Pandemic insurance wasn't widely held. Few sporting bodies held that type of insurance.

Mmm, fair point. Easy to think it's an oversight now, but I remember back in February 2020 thinking that it was ridiculous to suggest cancelling the 6N because of a little flu type bug that's blow over, let alone worrying about the 2021 Lions. Hindsight's 20:20.

People that are paid to be informed of such things knew, and whatever idiot rugger bugger pushed this turd of a tour through is a spectacular financial and public health liability.

Who is/are accountable for the decision to damn the torpedoes BTW?

7-0 to lions, after 4 minutes. Too easy. Number of covid transmissions currently on either side are unknown.

Seeing through this fixture right now seems quite...negligent.

I love the way that you're consistently surprised at how irresponsible everyone's being for money. It's like it's a surprise to you every time.

Scrappy, but the Lions doing OK for a re-juggled team.

Vunipola getting well munched in the set scrum.

What if someone dies? Who takes responsibility then? It could be an asthmatic member of of support staff, or a kitten.

As for the game. It's a training run. Some nice stuff but it all seems pretty meaningless.

Nice to Simmons finally get a dab but he's being overshadowed understandably by Curry and Navidi.

Farrell looking good as does Daly, but then I guess they looked good in the championship too...

Half the EMB will blame Eddie Jones. In the absence of real justice/common sense, we can go with that.

Of course, if this was being played in the sea, then I reckon sharks would beat lions.

I'm sure I read that Wimbledon almost had it by accident last year as they nearly cancelled it due to costing 2m per annum.

Why, all the participants tested negative prior to the game which is why it was delayed by 1 hour.

Tests aren't 100% accurate and incubation time is a thing.

Yeah, testing one hour prior to a full contact meeting of 30-plus blokes is a joke and borderline medical malpractice. I cannot believe this is being presented as a serious option.

So a new plan to play the Sharks again, four days after the last game, is being formulated. Apparently there are some Lions tourists that have declined and continue to decline the offer of vaccination. Lions managing director and noted virologist Ben Calverley says:

"“I think everyone has a right to make their own decision on whether or not they want to be vaccinated,” said Calveley. “I think it’s wrong for anyone to think that vaccination is some sort of universal panacea. I’m afraid it’s not. So we have an approach which is multi-layered where, as well as having a majority of the party being vaccinated, we are also exhibiting all of the right behaviours."

All of the right behaviours. Like flying into a locked down country with unvaccinated individuals to place them in close physical contact with dozens of locals. This is totally FUBAR, but does reinforce that there is no cure for being a cunt.
