Re: Tigers Vs Sale
Big forward battle in prospect here. Plenty of interesting match ups. Great to see Lood and BC back
Warr and Wilkinson vs Youngs and Ford is about as worrying as it gets until you consider Thomas and Curtis v Wiggy and Burns off the Bench. Fantastic experience for the 4 young lads though (I think!)
In Axe we trust!!

Re: Tigers Vs Sale
Tigers fans have taken to quoting IBWT (in Borthwick we trust).
The forwards battle looks like it will be practically warfare. I fancy Tigers at the set piece but maybe not much joy from the rolling maul but Sale in the loose with Curry at 7.
Quins youthful halfbacks shone Vs Quins last weekend but without Quirke they are certainly missing something. Shame we haven't got Quirke Vs Youngs, that would have been an excellent sub plot as they seem the two most likely England 9 contenders.

Sale backrow is beautifully balanced in direct contrast to the graphene like centres.

He's earned it after naming some selections which felt bizarre, but then went on to get a result.FKAS wrote:Tigers fans have taken to quoting IBWT (in Borthwick we trust).
This looks like a fairly orthodox pick though and pretty close to our strongest possible XXIII. Aled Walters deserves credit for getting the side fit to play, as well as actually physically fit in the case of some Nadolos. This game's a big test of our title credentials.

Tigers getting no joy at the maul. Youngs is stuttering his passes again, seems to kill any flow

Much improved second half, still some odd calls and shoddy mistakes.
Steward is so solid.

Re: Tigers Vs Sale
Weird game. Dickson with a slightly improved performance to normal so occasionally incompetent as opposed to completely. His pal in the truck Kit seemed to be asleep for the entire game so both Sale centres got away with shots to the head. The second one was spectacularly poor from the pair of them as Dickson insisted there was no head on head contact even as Janse van Rensburg left the pitch for a HIA.
Tigers contained Sale in the way I expected Quins to last week. Quins failed mainly because their kicking and decision making in their own half from 9 and 10 was appalling. Tigers, however, delivered in this area. Ben Youngs box kicking was spot on with pretty much every kick, it's only taking five league games before he got his eye in on the sixth. I think someone may have had a work because he was trying far to hard in attack though his play in the build up to the Liebenburg try was complete textbook manipulation of a cover defence.
Sale looked dangerous ball in hand but were dragged into an arm wrestle too easily, led by Tom Curry who spent most of the game looking for a fight. That suited Tigers down to the ground and piled the pressure onto the youthful halfback pairing. Sale really needed to do more with their power runners than run down the 10/12 channel. It was all to predictable.
Ford gave the consummate mature flyhalf performance to the point where he might as well have looked directly down the camera and asked "are you watching Eddie". All he needed was a try and that was close if a half break had become a full break, Manu's defensive positioning to come from Ford's blindside at speed and cut off the outside worked well initially but Ford knew it was coming so started stepping and passing into the gap, mainly to Steward coming from deep.
Six from six and a tough opponent dealt with with minimal drama. Borthwick will be quietly happy with how that went. Another big test at the Gardens next week though.

Re: Tigers Vs Sale
Shamelessly nicked from elsewhere.
Some stats show Defence won it
Scott 11 tackles 0 missed
Kelly 12 tackles 0 missed
Compare that too
Rensburg 2 tackles 4 missed
Manu 4 tackles 1 missed
In fact the only Tiger to miss more than 1 tackle was Van Staden who made 23 tackles and missed 2.
Van Staden led the tackle count for both teams (Curry and Du Preez combined for 23 tackles) with Wiese second with 20 tackles and 1 miss
Team stats
Tigers 158 tackles 10 missed
Sale 98 tackles 14 missed

Cheers for the info.
Is that site regularly streaming rugby games? Never came across it before. Seems to be Russian/Ukranian?
Safe enough re. malware?
Seems as though you can watch recordings too with good picture quality.

No issues with Malware, I didn't even get any pop ups or redirects - using Brave browser, Avast and Malwarebytes.

It streams all matches live. I watch via a browser on a firestick plugged straight into the telly, but easy enough to cast from a phone or tablet. It is a Russian site but seems quite safe though a good anti virus software is obviously sensible. You don't have to register or put in any personal details - just click through any such pop ups. I've been using it all season so far and haven't yet had any Ukrainian blonds contact me..............

Did Nye Thomas get on? If you think Quirke is good then you’ve got another cracking SH to watch.

Re: Tigers Vs Sale
That’s a shame. My mate’s lad was the year above him, but Nye played up (often two years) a year and just seemed to be a level above everyone on the pitch. Real crisp pass off either hand, good break. Kicking is excellent. He and Jake Garside (Saints) leaving school this last summer are two real talents.chris1850 wrote:No, he didn't unfortunately.
