Finally managed to watch the match - what a great game for Leicester. The maturity of the team to spend the first 15 attacking Sale, realise that they were getting no change out of the rolling maul or their attacking plays and, instead of continuing to bang their heads against the wall, switching things up to take the points and attack with varied tactical kicking to stretch the defence rather than give them the collisions that they wanted. Shows real promise that we adapted rather than trying to impose our game plan on a situation that wasn't working.
Disagreed with you FKAS on TCurry, who I thought was magnificent for the second week in a row. He was everywhere in defence and a nuisance in the rucks, as well as making some pretty hard carries and it was noticeable that, while he was always in the aggro, he was always there trying to get a rise out of Genge (and succeeded at getting a Sale penalty once), rather than because he was getting tetchy.
Fuming about the van Rensberg challenge though. It was a penalty without any head contact, as it was an absolute body-check without an attempt at a tackle and it was infuriating to have it given as a knock-on when it was only knocked loose by dangerous play. Hope the IRB feel they got their money's worth out of that tackle-technique-moderation course!
