Squidge rugby pointed it out in the SA game, but it was clear there for NZ, if they aren't getting through, the midfield shape and passing goes to pieces after a couple of phases.

Good work Ireland. Way to take it to the opposition for the full 80. Pressure resulted in some borderline comedy from the AB attack. Havili....just not convinced. Reece found really lacking in the decision making department when under pressure.

ABs couldn't hold onto the ball. Have to give credit to Irelands rush defense and breakdown efforts, but worrying signs for the ABs there.

I thought Ireland were good value for the win. Some real deer in the headlights action from NZ. Will Jordan not playing to the whistle was one reeediculous example.

I agree Ireland we’re good. I’m not used to seeing an all black team look like they had no ideas. If the pass hadn’t been forward and if the break out midway through the 2nd half had lead to tries and us winning people would have purred and said how clinical we were with hardly and possession. But we didn’t have control in that match at any point and we didn’t make any adjustments to adapt to anything.

Great game from Ireland. I wouldn't panic if I was an NZ fan though - the midfield is a real work in progress but there is loads to work with. There are a lot of players who will gain from the experience of facing that intensity too.

And even with all that, if Ioane's score had stood (or Whitlock had gone for a scrum) then NZ could have won that.

The real question for world rugby is if Ireland can keep up the quality of their last two performances.

Ireland were nearly perfect, and clearly the better team.

Having said that, in 30 odd years of watching international rugby, I have never seen NZ play anywhere close to that bad. Feck knows what was/is going in their camp but that was genuinely shocking.

Looking for positives maybe, but the defensive effort from NZ was immense. Ireland deserved winners, but to Cameo's point, we tend to be chicken little ish whenever the ABs lose a game and should probably take a collective chill pill. I enjoyed the game despite the loss.

It's less the loss itself, and more ​the manner of the loss. A manner that goes back to at least 2018 when the Boks won in Wellington. England's 2019 semifinal win was probably the most emphatic example, but Argentina (2020), the Boks (again) and now Ireland have all filled their boots.

I have no confidence in Foster and Plumtree being able to turn it around.
