First half was ding dong, second half was an absolute humping. Glasgow will be gutted because they were absolutely dismantled after the break.

Exe got on top in the 2nd half and Glasgow fell away quite badly.
Nowell was excellent, so too LCD and Slade.

Great to hear. Two players I really admire, and pleased for Sladefivepointer wrote:

Slade's hands in quick-fired creativity were sublime. He is now becoming more authoritative too. I hope Jones picks him with Marchant as a centre pairing. They would thrive with Smith at FH - given a decent run of games.

Outside back looking better when side are playing well shockOakboy wrote:Slade's hands in quick-fired creativity were sublime. He is now becoming more authoritative too. I hope Jones picks him with Marchant as a centre pairing. They would thrive with Smith at FH - given a decent run of games.

That’s been coming for Exeter. With the exception of away Glasgow game, they’ve been getting better week on week.
That big Kiwi tighthead needs a lot of work though. They consistently look far better when he gets subbed off.

Iosefa-Scott seems to be something of a project. He's big and does offer something in the loose, so maybe the thinking is the scrummaging will come on. He's helped by injuries to Williams, Street and Nixon so he might be sidelined when they are available. Schickerling has provided a more secure platform when he's come on.
One player i'm liking the look of is the young Maunder at SH. Jack is a steady as you go kind of player but Sam looks to have a bit more about him invention wise.

Even I, in everlasting learning mode, appreciate that.Banquo wrote:Outside back looking better when side are playing well shockOakboy wrote:Slade's hands in quick-fired creativity were sublime. Oh yes, I'm just remarking that you are continually demanding backs 'stamp authority' on a game, when often that's a tad difficult as an outside back in a team performing poorly.Oakboy wrote:Even I, in everlasting learning mode, appreciate that.Banquo wrote:Outside back looking better when side are playing well shockOakboy wrote:Slade's hands in quick-fired creativity were sublime. Unfortunately, as we all fear, Jones will probably pick Farrell at 12.

Ah, when I used the word 'authoritative' about Slade here I was thinking more of demanding support from team-mates. Before we drift down a cross-purposes cul-de-sac (largely of my making because your in-depth knowledge of the game is so vastly superior), where Slade is developing, IMO, is in being a central part of taking chances. I understand that forwards create the space for openings etc. but once a chance develops being ruthless in execution must be the goal for the backs, mustn't it? I use 'authoritative' in that context, perhaps wrongly.Banquo wrote:Oh yes, I'm just remarking that you are continually demanding backs 'stamp authority' on a game, when often that's a tad difficult as an outside back in a team performing poorly.Oakboy wrote:Even I, in everlasting learning mode, appreciate that.Banquo wrote: Outside back looking better when side are playing well shockThe simple belief that Slade has better hands than Farrell keeps my fingers crossed for that trio. The only point I’m making is that you need to have the opportunity to show your mettle, and in the outside backs it’s a bit out of one’s control. So maybe a bit agreeing and it cross terminology purposeOakboy wrote:Ah, when I used the word 'authoritative' about Slade here I was thinking more of demanding support from team-mates.
