Gaskell at 6 must be for lineout purposes only!

Gaskell used to play back row quite a lot - played 6 and 8 for Sale, IIRC. He's still mobile enough to do it.

Surprised by the amount of changes in the Bristol and Strang will have to do 80 minutes as Lloyd is not a scrum half.... Is 4 scrum halfs out injured a record? Both the loan signings are now crocked (Venner - acl, Green - wrist).

Can't see anything other than a heavy defeat for Bristol from this - playing badly, no confidence, 4th choice 9 and we always lose to Wasps

yes, I know but given that Barbeary is on the bench, and Gaskell is somewhat ancient and not the heaviest of hitters.......and apparently they are not using Launchbury as a jumper much...

That was then...

Bris really struggling at HB. 3rd choice THP, no Harding in the BR and a new IC. Plus, their form over the last 2 weeks has been very poor.

Wasps on the up with a good looking side.

Wasps were terrible last week, though. Not convinced this is a given.

Gaskell is ancient? I hate to think what that makes me, then…

He’s only 31

He might be 31, but his knees are 72 and 76 respectively,

Still an absolute menace at the lineout. Bristol have stacked their pack to go after the lineout so sort of makes sense for Wasps to go like for like. You'd imagine both attack coaches would be bullish about their ability to create something from first phase.

Jack’ll probably have to carry him around the pitch. Not a problem for him.

Good win for Bris. Got on top early on and scored the decisive points.

The feed I watched was pretty choppy so hard to draw many conclusions. But it looked like Joyce, Heenan and Eden all had good games. Frisch looked ok as well.

Seemed like Bristol errors and cock ups kept wasps in it. But might be because I missed loads as the stream locked up ..
