To be fair though, the standard in the pro12 is pretty low in the main, and not a good yardstick for international potential, though I appreciate, it's all we've got.

Look at Tom James, he looks great in that league, but has looked a bit ordinary for Wales, as has Anscombe imo.

Both Anscombe and James need a run of games to get up to pace, but I'm pretty sure both have the qualities necessary for Wales duty.

I don't think either of them are out of place at international level, and James is arguably* the second-best winger we have to hand, but how Anscombe has got ahead of several players (in and out of the squad**) for that last bench place seems to be more to do with his nationality than anything else. Not saying he's a bad player, but we just seem to have better options than Anscombe.

* There are other contenders, but on current league form you can make a good case for this.
** Amos, Nipper, Patchell, Sam Davies...

I'm not sure Tom James has that much to offer, I would hyavbe Amos over him in an instant. It was disappointing that he failed to score the try despite being known predominantly as a speedster, when he got the ball I thought we had scored as I always thought he was lightening quick, it seems not, he did however manage to transfer the ball to the correct hand before trying to fend so there's an improvement.

Yes, I was disappointed at this too, but on the other hand I was pleasantly surprised when he was able to haul would-be-try-scorer Trimble into touch on the previous week. He's not my first choice, but better than most of our options after North.

He has improved hugely during the last few years. He has been one of the from players in Wales this season, and deserves a run. I'd prefer Amos, but he needs to display some good form again.

He looks to actually pass now since he's been at Exeter, that is the improvement that has been made. I'd rather Tyler Morgan on the wing tbh, tho out of the squad he is 3rd choice imo.
