Sad to hear this morning that he'd passed away. He was 93 years old, so he'd had a good run, but he was such a big part of so many people's childhoods that it felt like he should go on forever.

Pretty versatile back in the day, seemed to pop up everywhere, less so after Wombles..
'Hole in the Ground' & 'Right Said Fred' got alot of air time in 60's and 70 's and were funny, as was his 'Poop-decker'.
Pretty left-field hotel inspector for Fawlty.
