Dombrandt is frustrating. He took his tries really well, put in a few nice touches but overall you feel his contribution doesnt match his ability.
Didn't see the game so can't comment. You have just described a luxury that England cannot afford.

I suppose you’d need to look at his gps etc stats. I doubt he’d have got as far as test rugby if he’s lazy.
Don’t think he is lazy just a centre trapped in an 8’s body. Personally I want an 8 who thrives on pain, one who puts winning the physical contest above off loading out of contact. And one who, whilst others ruffle hair with a sympathetic hand, gives a look of disgust.

Agreed. He’s the wrong no8 for this England team, imo.

His stats show a player far from lazy.

It’s a lazy accusation by lazy people looking for a lazy answer to a lazy question.

Every time Smith gets the ball there are three Stormers with it.
Thought Care's passing was atrocious - generally accurate, but it was so slow in the air.

He did the little step and then crap pass to Smith a fair bit as well. The step was always backwards so really invited that Stormers defence onto Smith.

Aha! So it was all Smith’s influence vs France.

Joe takes the threat of testicular cancer very seriously and was just helping out Fourie with a quick spot check.

Am I failing to see something (anything at all) in that video?

I’ll hardly be shocked if Marler has another brain implosion and picks up another ban, but I can’t see anything there aside from the usual sort of ‘analytics’ going round after any game involving a South African team. A prop holds another prop for a moment after the ball has gone. Then a weird binding in a ruck, supposedly grabbing his balls (?), after which the player gets his head examined.

WTF is a make-your-own-arrangements pass?

Yeah, the first bit is nonsense complaining - it's the second bit I'm annoyed about. Marler has no need to be putting his hand there at all and it's frankly weird that he does. I'm assuming he's trying to distract the player from competing for the ball by putting his hand between his legs, but it's really, really weird that that would be his go-to action.

Agreed, the first bit is actually clever play and it the Saffa commentator saw his team do that he'd be praising them. Little bit of street smarts to keep the Stormers front row from hitting those rucks which sees slower ball and a turnover. Clever bit of niggle that.

The second bit, as Puja says, that's just weird. A hand between the legs and then Fourie clearly taking exception to something isn't a good look for someone with Marler's priors. Fourie getting his head checked was pretty consistent for most the game, the guy was a gluten for punishment.

No - in this case he was totally gluten-free.
Don't know what strange psychology has a bloke go after another's genitals in public, especially with previous form.
I look forward to the day when some pissed-off opponent gives Marler a dose of his own medicine.
I remember a weird case of an Oz Rugby League player, probably 10+ years ago, who was done for repeatedly trying to shove his finger up the anus of tackled players.

Clearly you’ve all got much better eyesight than I do. I don’t know how you can have the slightest clue what’s going on from the angle in that video. Is there another angle?

I’d presume innocence, if based on only that video, if it were another player, but he does do some daft thing. Still there seems to be an awful lot of leaping done by those pundits. Is he actually quoting Fourie or just making stuff up?

I'm confused as to your confusion. You see him go to the guy bent over for the jackal, lean over him and put his hand between his legs as his first action, right? How is that something with an innocent explanation? What is he attempting to legally accomplish which starts with putting his hand there?

I haven't got a clue. I just don't understand why you're all acting like there's any clear idea of what is happening there based on that video. Going for an unorthodox clearout? (where we do actually see that technique from time to time) He thinks Fourie has the ball? It's hard to rule out any specific strain of stupidity when it comes to Marler

I've lost track of the times partners of mine being forced to watch rugby have asked things like "Why is he sticking his head between that guy's legs? Why is he lifting that guy up in the air by his arse? Why did they all pretend to wank eachother off when that player scored?" etc. etc.

A legitimate question.
