Van Rensburg is a big loss. He's been great the past few weeks. Haven't seen so much of him tonight.

van Rensburg's probably in Disneyland at the moment. There's little chance you won't have your bell rung after a knee to the back of the head.

Barrett materialises out of literally nowhere to score a try. Should be the match.

Unless your'e someone like Wilkinson or F.Steyn, dropkicks from that far outfield are never a good idea.

So that's all five NZ franchises with a SR title. Took the four southern stragglers a while to collectively get there in the wake of the trailblazing Blues hipsters, but better late than never.

He's been crazy good since the June tests break.

Thought the scoreline wasn't a fair reflection on the Lions, but at the same time, a fair testament to the Hurricanes' defence. Bit worried for Coles' health, but at the same time, it's always cool seeing the guys who would've been stuck riding the pine behind established internationals like Riccitelli was at the start of the season grab a hold of their chances with both hands and make the most of it. If he wasn't on the radar before, he should be now and he's earned it. It's like Derren Witcombe at the Blues in '04. Mealamu missed most of that season due to injury, Witcombe stepped up, and he as an All Black playing against the Lions 12 months later.

And let's also acknowledge that the current Lions management and players have done a remarkable job in taking a team that was so shit, they were actually tossed out of the competition, and turned them around in just a few seasons into deserved finalists that took down some pretty damn good teams on their way to the Caketin tonight.

Great win. Great sequence of defensive performances as well.

As much as I like the speed of the Hurricanes defense, at times there were players sprinting up solo and creating dog legs. Luckily the ones I saw actually got their man but if they'd missed it could end badly. Cipriani was a shocker for this when he was playing in Melbourne.

Still, they did very well defensively at the ass end of the season.

I'll have to stop calling them chokers...
If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

So just how crucial was the Jaguars' upset win over the Lions in the final round of the regular season? Bienvenido, Argentina!
