Racing vs Quins
Am I blind or is there no thread for this?
What a call that was to say no try for Quins. Racing immediately score an incredible try down the other end.

I think it’s the first time I’ve seen W. Joseph play and I like the cut of his jib.

Is Murley quicker than Arundell?

Lovely drop goal from Smith.
Very error strewn game in general though. Neither forward pack properly taking control, but momentum generally with Quins.

Stuart Hogg? I’m not really sure how he got this gig to be honest.

I’m guessing captaining Scotland, three Lions tours and winning the Champions Cup.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:57 pmfrancoisfou wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:42 pm Who are the commentators whose voices grate like old rusty hinge ?

We’re still managing to look desperate when we just needed to hold it together there.

Well yes, but look at Dallaglio.Mellsblue wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 7:11 pmI’m guessing captaining Scotland, three Lions tours and winning the Champions Cup.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:57 pmfrancoisfou wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:42 pm Who are the commentators whose voices grate like old rusty hinge ?

Not sure what basis you initially choose your ex player analysts on other than their playing career. Happy to agree that Dalloglio has repeatedly proved he’s terrible as an analyst but that is a different convo as to why BT/TNT recruited Hogg.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 7:16 pmWell yes, but look at Dallaglio.Mellsblue wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 7:11 pmI’m guessing captaining Scotland, three Lions tours and winning the Champions Cup.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:57 pm

Have to say, what the hell happened to Dino Lamb?
Since he's been an international, he's suddenly turned into a really good player. That tackle, get up and disrupt the SH was superb. Shame he then got done for side entry, but he was very very good today. And considering we have Lewies who is basically permanently injured, that's great.

He really stepped up a season or so ago, but then spent quite a bit of time injured. He seems to have grown in confidence since getting capped and works very well with Launchbury.Stom wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 7:28 pm Have to say, what the hell happened to Dino Lamb?

What a shame about that double movement. I’m sure he won’t thank Beard for that pass late on either.
Typically Quins way to win. Great to have 5 points but it was a complete coin toss in the end. You just know that other teams would have taken better advantage of the openings we left.

I enjoy watching other teams play. It’s the complete lack of ambition or execution from the teams I love that just kills me. I’ve never cared less about England, and Tigers is going down a similar route. It’s just so utterly turgid and frankly dull.

Re: Racing vs Quins
He’s very good over the ball. Seems to have a decent work rate but not 100% on his work in the scrum? So pretty much exactly what UKH said when I asked about him over on the WMB.
Feels like he could be quite a good fit for Quins if Adam Jones can make sure he’s getting his job done at scrum time. Obviously that’s a big ‘if’ for a prop, but looks pretty handy around the pitch otherwise.
I don’t know that he’ll displace Will Collier immediately, but I think there will be plenty of rotation between the two as starting tighthead.
