The Form Thread
Touch early for this, what with the internationals away, and... mismatches during the PRC; but I intend to do this each week (I suspect I'll fail)
The Prem teams have all now played 4 matches against other Prem teams (2 in PRC, and 2 in Prem). So the current form table looks like this.

Re: The Form Thread
Obviously, this week, the table of 4 match's worth of form is the same as the Prem table itself (unless I've cocked up somewhere)

Re: The Form Thread
I appreciate having this here, and not just because I hadn't noticed Quins were top already.
I'm interested if there will be some way of tracking 'form' beyond just how the table is looking once we get further in to the season? The infographics with last 5 H/A results etc. are quite useful too but not sure where they're readily available. Just a thought.
I'm still sort of expecting the table to be book-ended by Falcons/Saracens for most of it, but everything in between feels near impossible to predict. It would be great to see Bath become a real force again.

Re: The Form Thread
If I understand you correctly, that's what I'm trying to do here. The table itself is "form over the season so far", whilst I'm tracking form over the last 4 matches - and tracking to see how it develops over the course of the season, given that form ebbs and flows through a year.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 9:50 am I'm interested if there will be some way of tracking 'form' beyond just how the table is looking once we get further in to the season?
That seems a tad too complicated for me to add in, though I could probably flag up things like WLLW (Bath's last 4) next to them if you'd find that useful?Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 9:50 amThe infographics with last 5 H/A results etc. are quite useful too but not sure where they're readily available. Agreed on all counts, especially seeing Bath performing on grass the way they should on paper.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 9:50 amI'm still sort of expecting the table to be book-ended by Falcons/Saracens for most of it, but everything in between feels near impossible to predict. Aha. I hadn't clocked that this does move on once we go past 4 rounds. So it is more useful than just win/loss/PD anyway, assuming you're continuing with table + graph.

Re: The Form Thread
Yeah, last week was the only time my tables and the Prem table would look the same (and showed me where I'd cocked up a couple of times - I@m now not doing it whilst up and about through insomnia)Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 4:18 pm Aha. I intend to keep going with it, but only if people (including myself) find it a useful or interesting thing.

I find it useful and interesting, if that helps. I don't have much to say about it though.Which Tyler wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 5:10 pmYeah, last week was the only time my tables and the Prem table would look the same (and showed me where I'd cocked up a couple of times - I@m now not doing it whilst up and about through insomnia)Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 4:18 pm Aha. Same here. Just not enough data to make too much of a comment on this stage.

Re: The Form Thread
Now we've got more weeks under our belt, would anyone be interested in 6-weeks worth of form?
It's awkward finding that ground where there are enough data points to feel meaningful, and not too skewed by the bounce of a ball / ref decision; but few enough to count as "current"; whilst an odd-number of matches means that everyone will have different numbers of home and away matches.

I think 5 weeks is good (and not just because that puts Leicester second) - it's a good amount that gives an indicator of form.Which Tyler wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 9:50 am Now we've got more weeks under our belt, would anyone be interested in 6-weeks worth of form?

Re: The Form Thread
There's a few stories in that graph. Leicester and Saracens getting their RWC players back, Bath/Saints/Sale always being there or thereabouts, Bristol and Gloucester having something of a slight dip after a promising start...Banquo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 10:33 amcertainly tells Exeter's story wellPuja wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 10:11 amI think 5 weeks is good (and not just because that puts Leicester second) - it's a good amount that gives an indicator of form.Which Tyler wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 9:50 am Now we've got more weeks under our belt, would anyone be interested in 6-weeks worth of form?

Re: The Form Thread
From a Bath perspective, we drop the narrow loss away to Sale, and now have 4 5-pointers on the trot!

Thought this was as good a place to put it as anywhere, but damn, it's a tight prem this season so far.
3 points between 1st and 6th. Pretty good.

Where did you find this graphic? I'd be interested to see it now. Sale and Exeter have obviously dropped off, but it still seems completely impossible to predict/follow form at the moment.
Saints and Falcons are the obvious outliers, but it still feels like basically everyone can beat everyone else.
