Totally agree. It’s clear that there were serious doubts about the reliability of the evidence relating to Horizon early on yet that was wilfully ignored and indeed covered up. Better for some poor sod to go to jail than admit there was a mistake.

As the enquiry discovers the degree of deliberate miscarriage of perjury then I think the police should be involved. This seems to be way beyond mere incompetence.

I assume you’ve seen the ITV programme? The opening scene where the Post Office investigators rocked up in Jags and threw their weight around reminded me of a run in I had with them in the naughtiest. The local PO staff were terrified of them and their approach to their work was very intimidatory. Thankfully I was in a position where I could tell them to jog on and have no repercussions but a very different situation of you worked for the PO.

ITV are on a bit of a roll at the moment with hard hitting drama. Breath taking was good - the PO one is better
