Several of us were advocating Langdon a few years back. He seemed to disappear for a while but he's back now and, arguably, leading the field for the England 2 shirt.

Cracking game. Saints pulled away in closing quarter and were good winners in the end. Hendy's first try was a thing of beauty.

Langdon was excellent. He should tour in the summer.

Lawes has been ridiculous. Really exulting in his post-international career and a crying shame that Saints couldn't keep him for next year.

Saints defence immense and their backline are great ball in hand. Freeman, Hendy, Dingwall I thought excellent, Mitchell made a difference. Lawes and Langdon excellent too. Odendaal was mostly good but a bit hit and miss. Saints didn’t get much from the ref esp at scrum time.

Fair few missed tackles in that backline.

Good fun game that. Both teams scramble was excellent. Thought saints would shoot thenselves in the foot but the recovered well several times and then just pulled away. Bench strength told a bit.

One note, and I’ll need to rewatch that moment, is when Bearne went through and Freeman tackled him, I could have sworn that Bearne targeted his head into Freeman as he went into contact. There was a very late change of head position to effectively lead with his nut.

That's Beirne. He is not known for that kind of thing. Best player on the field today (as he usually is.)

Yeah but look at the attack. Hence saying great ‘ball in hand ‘that was the clue 😂😂. Didn’t expect you to be a Roundhead Oliver ;)

On a serious note, given the number of tackles Saints had to attempt, to come away with 89% made is pre decent, and their attack metres were phenomenal.

Autocorrect doing me in! I’ve not seen him be anything other than physical and fair which is why it stood out. I need to check it again.

And he was excellent. Stopped several attacks single handedly.

They were also against a bloody good side who challenged them well. What mattered was the recovery from missing which was largely excellent.

The only real defensive worry o saw was that Munster found the edge quite easily at times, especially on the left. They’d obviously done their homework on Saints defence.

Saints did well to eventually adapt at the breakdown and get more turnovers

He should certainly be touring. Shame he got banned at the wrong time tbh

Yeah that really seemed to count against him for the 6N.

“The journey he went on last season at Bedford, week in, week out playing Championship rugby [was important],” Dowson said of Hendy.

“…the Championship, it just doesn’t deliver,” Sweeney said of the Championship.
