Tom Harrison Explains Scrums
That was **F A S C I N A T I N G**. Not just for some of the clearest and most informative analysis of the minutiae of scrums and how and why they work/get broken, but also for an insight into Harrison, whom I suspect not many of us know much about.
I think we were all surprised when Stilted Basketweaver took him immediately from his first senior job at Leicester straight into the England setup (I'm sure I said something along the lines of "maybe there are some better coaches available if we think to look outside Welford Road?"), but he's certainly looked the part in terms of how well England's scrum has gone and that video gives an insight into just why. I don't think he'll ever have a career as a pundit - he opened up the video looking awkward, mumbly, and stressed - but when he got into the meat of it, he came alive. Seems to be an absolute nerd for scrums, in the same way as Brokennose was for lineouts, and a very good bit of talent acquisition by ol' Stick.
Definitely worth 20 minutes of your time to watch that.

Re: Tom Harrison Explains Scrums
Tigers scrum certainly benefited from Harrison and England's has started to look good working with him. I'll watch the video later but when he was at Tigers he was very big on the pack scrumming as a unit and every player being aligned perfectly, keeping it straight and giving such a good picture to the ref that you'll rarely concede a penalty. Could do with him back at WR really.
