Olympics

Post by Puja »

What the shit has gone on in the football?! As far as I can see, Argentina score an equaliser to make it 2-2 with 3 minutes to do, Morocco fans lose their shit and cause enough crowd trouble that the ref leads the teams off the pitch, it's considered to be a finished game until it's announced that the teams are actually going to come out and complete the last 3 minutes in an empty stadium and THEN, it's announced that the equalising goal has been ruled out by VAR over an hour after it was scored.

What the fuck? Certainly a non-controversial and sensible way to open the Olympics.

'The identity of the performers has been kept a tight secret...'
Will be interesting to see what big names are involved.
Can't see Macron diving out of a helicopter like HRH at 2012 though..

I'd say no expense was spared given the cost of policing 6km of opening ceremony

It's just too grande and the sound quality is poor consequently etc

Picking up a bit after a touch Eurovision, not sure the al fresco approach has made it bigger/better.

Yes, vive la difference and let's have a merge of threads

Or a thread for Olympic cynicism and one for commentary
