I've lost the plot on the rules - can he call up anyone from the England A squad?
Not a clue but who cares anymore!

I dunno, Murley went on record as saying that Borthwick told him he was doing the right things but was only getting so many touches a game and Borthwick wanted him to get more touches and carry more. I'd imagine it was similar for Ribbans. Unless Ribbans goes on record hard to know. Murley did go and record and seemed to like the feedback.
Think its true what SB said to Ribbans, I'm saying it was a very odd bit of feedback.
You make x number of dominant tackles and y number of metres post contact on average which is good but I need you to up those numbers. Not really surprising thing to say to a physical player you want to kick on. Saints having a porous defence at that stage as well probably didn't help.
We are guessing, but the anecdotal report I got was not presented like that at all. It wasn't quantitative.

Doesn't sound like Stats Backer but anecdotes do tend to be painted to suit the teller.

I will leave it there. Next time you meet Ribbans you can ask him ;)

So now we want him to embody all of his own shortcomings as a player because… irony?

If he brings back the post match bleeding nose it’ll buy him a couple of more matches, imo.

Marley in for Daly. I forgot Daly was even there…..

Yep. I don’t get what roebuck offers, tbh. He just seems one of those “yeah, he’s decent” players who you would never pick if you had Murley available, or Ibitoye, or even Radwan

Iike the look of Roebuck too. Gets over the line a bit and is great in the air. He’s a big lad but I don’t know how well/frequently he uses it? Seems to have a decent step.

Would compare him more to Freeman in style, whereas Murley is more like IFW. Scores a lot of tries and is generally just far more physical and abrasive than defenders seem to expect, with a great work rate and awareness of space/support.

That’s very much the role I thought Murley could take for England a couple of seasons back, then he got a bunch of injuries and IFW came from nowhere.

Ah!! Then more than happy to see Murley involved.

Though if he is playing outside the current dirge of creativity then being good in the air probably trumps all.
