Wow, that's a bench and a half from Bath.

It is, but it's by weakening the starting XV. I think Newcastle will be hopeful of getting something out of this - Diamonds getting those nuggety performances out of them that he's famous for and, on a cold day in the North-east, they might make Bath regret rotating.

Yeah I know what you mean but they are starting with should be able to at least stay on top of Falcons until the cavalry can turn up and blow them away.

Falcons just have a few too many key injuries at prop for instance and the loss of Sammy Arnold is massive for them.

That weakened starting XV is only really weakened in 3 positions (I'd say 4, but JvG doesn't seem intent on dropping Barbeary just yet).
Two of those 3 are Pepper and Bayliss, so hardly big steps down either.

Wind is horrendous, looks like it's mostly blowing about a 45* angle from the centre spot to around (Bath's) right hand touch line at the 22, but turbulent and different in different locations as the stand effect things.
Put the ball high, and no-one knows where it's going to land.

As expected Bath's bench makes a massive difference and they dominate the second half.
