Bath vs Bedford is on the telly box on Sunday. It was meant to be on Friday evening and the move completely scuppered my plans to go and watch.

Verden, Richards, and Nonleh have also played for us in the last year. Damn, if we could have kept all these guys we'd be flying!Which Tyler wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 12:23 pm For the televised match, Sunday at 3.00

Yeah, something needs to be done about that, going forwards
NB in case anyone from PRL is reading: "something" doesn't mean kicking out the championship clubs (but should involve inviting ALL of them)

What do you expect to happen? Loan players are in the championship for development. This development competition comes during the international period when all the clubs are short.
I'd prefer the competition to be under 23 with a restricted number of players over 23 allowed per each match day squad. Focus all clubs on keep developing players.

I`m highlighting both the dependency of London Scottish, Ampthill and even Hartpury on loan players, and how bizarre it is, for example, that c 8 of todays quins side played against London Scottish.....having played FOR Scottish last week.FKAS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 8:25 pmWhat do you expect to happen? Pointless debating with you on this tbh. But even with your point, the prem clubs didnt need to take so many players...and Bristol have two games in three days. The Prem clubs didnt really want the cup and are making that point.
The joke lies in the format and scheduling, then the prem clubs attitude.

Re: PRC round 4
I don't think the clubs didn't want it, not playing during international windows but still having a source of income is very useful. I also think most don't give a toss about winning it, which is probably what's grinding your gears a bit. As the Prem clubs aren't interested in winning it they aren't so interested in whether the Championship clubs want to win it either. Hence they'll recall the loan players to give them game time in their home system so that those international players are covered and those regular first teamers in need of a rest get that as well.Banquo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 9:42 pmI`m highlighting both the dependency of London Scottish, Ampthill and even Hartpury on loan players, and how bizarre it is, for example, that c 8 of todays quins side played against London Scottish.....having played FOR Scottish last week.FKAS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 8:25 pmWhat do you expect to happen? It's not ideal, the excluded Champ teams for starters. The format works better than the old one did. At least you play the sides in your own group now.

Re: PRC round 4
The format I agree is theoretically better....and thats from an excluded club...but in practice the next couple of weekends will be pointless-ish for the non pro teams on the park, given prem clubs attitude (and I will repeat, they dont have to recall on this scale, nor players who have been all season at champ clubs). I`ll repeat, they had to be dragged and bribed into the comp, and there wont be one involving T2 next season.FKAS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:07 pmI don't think the clubs didn't want it, not playing during international windows but still having a source of income is very useful. Its good financially for champ clubs, will give you that, even if Quins 2's are playing Scottish 2 's My gear grind is really about being excluded; my observation is as above.

Yeah we can agree on the exclusion being pointless and lazy organisation. I'd prefer to add those two extra Champ sides in and then invite the top two BUCS sides in to make up the numbers maybe.Banquo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:18 pmThe format I agree is theoretically better....and thats from an excluded club...but in practice the next couple of weekends will be pointless-ish for the non pro teams on the park, given prem clubs attitude (and I will repeat, they dont have to recall on this scale, nor players who have been all season at champ clubs). Yeah cause they were lazy and it made the structure easy.Banquo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:53 pmits all moot next season....and it was PRL who insisted on 10+10FKAS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:48 pmYeah we can agree on the exclusion being pointless and lazy organisation. I'd prefer to add those two extra Champ sides in and then invite the top two BUCS sides in to make up the numbers maybe.Banquo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:18 pm
The format I agree is theoretically better....and thats from an excluded club...but in practice the next couple of weekends will be pointless-ish for the non pro teams on the park, given prem clubs attitude (and I will repeat, they dont have to recall on this scale, nor players who have been all season at champ clubs). I`ll repeat, they had to be dragged and bribed into the comp, and there wont be one involving T2 next season.
Its good financially for champ clubs, will give you that, even if Quins 2's are playing Scottish 2 's My gear grind is really about being excluded; my observation is as above.

It’s the big day, boys. Why rugby and this comp were invented: to watch Bedford Blues get their arses handed to them live on tv.
