Watched it yesterday, have to say I thought we were shocking. SHC, what has happened to you? New fella looks a bit handy though.

Yeah, big confidence issues for SHC. Sean Kennedy is our top scrum-half at the moment.
Game was very scrappy but we still pumped them with our second team though,the first team being rested for the Harlequins.
There a few spells of thin rain during the game which wouldn't have helped with the ball handling.
Matta is going to be huge. (Petrie was really excited about him).

Otherwise the Romanian team is divided into 2:
-Forwards, all Romanian,
-Backs. all were Islanders and Kiwis.

It just seemed to me the backs were hurrying everything, maybe a lack of composure (cant say that word without hearing it in Jiffys irritating voice), admittedly I watched after a Sunday session at the pub no may not have been fully attuned.

I am not sure I could pick a first team out of our squad at the moment, there are definitely some names on the team sheet but the whole team...not so sure. Its been a while since I have seen them really get a quality win with a team effort to make me think that was a first team. Still with Solomons out the way, I live in hope. Now if we could bash Harlequins, that would be a different story.........

Yep, 1st team pack fairly obvious but the backs, especially the centres, are hard to pick from.

1 Sutherland/Dickinson
2 Ford
3 Nel
4 Toolis
5 Gilchrist
6 Bradbury
7 Hardy/Watson
8 CDP

9 Sean Kennedy (atm)
10 Tovey

11 Brown
12 Burleigh
13
14 Allen/Hoyland
15 Bryce (although Kinghorn, only played as a Sub last week and could possibly play the full game this weekend)

I reckon that Bresler starts ahead of Toolis currently but it's pretty close between the three locks. Gilchrist has the highest ceiling but still not quite back to his best I feel.

Have high hopes that Manu can make himself first choice, not as enamoured with CDP as others are. Again though coming back from injury.

Don't think that Burleigh is a clear choice to start. When was the last time he played really well? The trouble is that none of the other centres are demanding to take his place.

I've just read on the Edinburgh Rugby Forum that Burleigh is still recovering from injury and will probably not be coming back before mid november. Dean seems to be getting picked at 12 at the moment.

Balkan chain in the North west of Bulgaria-East of Serbia was quite stunning, the rest not so much, but I slept a lot. Timisoara is a beautiful but quiet city.
When did you do that trip? I was surprised to see there were still building with the Nato Bomb marks in Belgrade.

Edinburgh sign Argentina prop Felipe Arregui until January

Argentina tight-head prop Felipe Arregui has signed for Edinburgh from Super League franchise Jaguares until the end of January.

Acting head coach Duncan Hodge was delighted to give the 6ft 2in Arregui the chance to shine at the Pro12 club.

"At only 22, he has an impressive CV for a prop and we're excited to see what he can offer," he said.

"He's shown a real enthusiasm and energy in training, which we're sure will transfer on to the park."

Edinburgh have been without tight-head prop WP Nel, who is out with a neck injury, since the start of October.

Having already played for his country at under-19 and under-20 level, the 6ft 2in, 17st 5lb Arregui made his debut for Argentina as a replacement in their 26-24 victory over South Africa in August.

The prop, who can also pack down at loose-head, was named as part of the Jaguares squad for 2016 after impressing with Argentine side Duendes.

Arregui, who featured for the Super Rugby side on five occasions, told Edinburgh's website: "I'm very happy and excited to be joining Edinburgh Rugby and I come with the intention of giving my all for the team.

"I really like the way the squad and coaches work to improve each day with a view to growing the team and the club."
