Cruden takes the money
Fair play. He's done a great job for NZ and the Chiefs. You can't blame him for looking after No. 1 now.

Yep, all the best to him. Hope this means Sopoaga gets more game time in black.

Jake White will reduce him to a kicker. I hope he carves it up, learns French, and comes home with some culinary acumen with which to dazzle the Tron cafe set.

Fair do's to him. Hope he enjoys a good shift up in France, getting the Eurodollars.

Vern Cotter will be coaching Montpellier next season.morepork wrote:Jake White will reduce him to a kicker. I hope he carves it up, learns French, and comes home with some culinary acumen with which to dazzle the Tron cafe set.

That's me told then. Vern will dictate the fluff on the flat white.

Sorry - that sounded a bit curt. Was posting during a very short window while testing a pt- apologies.
But to expand, Cotter's probably a good coach to play under. It can't have hurt Montpellier's chances of securing Cruden, never mind the lavish pay packet.

entirely understandable since the Herald didn't see fit to mention that whilst Jake White was the current coach, he wouldn't be by the time Cruden arrived.morepork wrote:Spy wrote:Sorry - that sounded a bit curt. Was posting during a very short window while testing a pt- apologies.

I read somewhere that Ben "from accounting" (Smith) is next to go. Can't remember the club but it's the same one as Conrad Smith.

That's the one.Lizard wrote:Pau
It would make sense that some Kiwis would explore their options overseas after this season with the Lions tour. For most you only get one chance at a Lions test series. Cruden is still young enough to reach the next world cup but this is probably the peak of his earning powers rather than post 2019 RWC. Same with Ben Smith at 30.

Good luck to Cruden. Perhaps 1-2 years early but there are replacements available.
Hope Ben Smith stays abit longer. He offers something that we dont have in many players and with NMS injuries not sure what the other options are.

Is NMS still injured, or had he picked up a new one?dk4 wrote:Good luck to Cruden. Perhaps 1-2 years early but there are replacements available.
