I give up. Fine. Trot out the "but the weather" excuse as a reason not to try to play rugby, despite the country with the highest skill level having at least as bad weather.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

You're being disingenuous. No one has said weather is the only factor involved, just that it is a factor.Eugene Wrayburn wrote:I give up. Fine. Fair play to NZ for putting a premium on skills based rugby. They play pro club rugby against Aus and SA teams who do play in warm dry weather, and as such it would be expected that skills would be high. I'm old enough to remember when NZ rugby was pretty much 10 man rugby, with just the odd burst of back play. That was back before they started playing club rugby against Aus and SA teams on warm dry pitches.
Rugby in Scotland could do with lots of input, not least of which is some warmer drier weather.

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
