Is it me or does 7 years seem a little lenient? I get that the gang were sponsored by Saga so some of them may not have much time left as it is but considering they were career criminals and only a third of an estimated £14M has been recovered, it seems that crime does pay quite well.

Maximum sentence is 10 years and they've sentenced them above the scope of the sentencing guidelines which for the most serous burglaries suggests a range of 1-5 years.WaspInWales wrote:Is it me or does 7 years seem a little lenient? I had no idea the maximum term for burglary was 10 years.
Still, 3 and half years with good behaviour doesn't seem too bad at all.
Plenty of time to get out and do that one last job...sell the story, write a book and become a bona-fide British criminal legend.
