Even more players missing due to club duty. Going to be tough this one against a good Welsh side.
Lots more clueless commentary on the conveyor belt being broken if we lose.

Has anyone questioned the conveyor belt being broken, or have they asked if it's just a weaker year? The academies seem to get nothing but praise from what I've heard and read. It's the transition between them and 1stXV that is questioned.Epaminondas Pules wrote:Even more players missing due to club duty. Going to be tough this one against a good Welsh side.

Even if it's not as I see it then criticism can be used as a positive if you don't get precious about it. Alex Ferguson turned it in to an art form.

Been Dissapointed with Merchant this 6N's.
Can't wait for Callard to be off. although crying at the fact he is going to be Saxons coach still.

Think the conveyor is in pretty good shape.
We are missing quite a few of our better players but if they are playing for their clubs thats a positive for their development.
Not impressed thus far, but age group rugby is really a means to an end. If we get 4 or 5 through to the senior England side then thats really what we're looking to achieve.
Callard has spoken about doing something for the u20's who graduate by getting a more meaningful A league programme. Its overdue. Having half a dozen games isnt enough and the loan system is erratic. Dusty Hare, who is now running the Saints academy, in TRP at the weekend stated that some of his youngsters have played less than 10 games so far this season.

Last time a full a league was being voted on only Leicester and one other team voted for it.
Hopefully that would change by now.
Something meaningful needs to happen for profession from U20 to Senior rugby.
loaninng players is fine till U20 but @ u20+ Clubs want to keep hold of those players to keep an eye on them and try and get them into the senior training fold, trouble is game time is sacrificed.

Yep, after the Ireland loss how we'd gone from double World Cup winners to also rans.Mellsblue wrote:Has anyone questioned the conveyor belt being broken, or have they asked if it's just a weaker year? It's unfortunate side effect as the U20's gets more coverage the lack of understanding comes to the fore.

Protheroe is sooo Overrated.
Brophy Clews and Mallinder will have to carry this England team.

16-28. Showing some signs of life in the second half. Scrum looks a bit more settled too.

Seems harsh that. The tackle went bad but absolutely no malice.
No sure it was even a penalty??
