Slade to possibly make comeback against Newcastle

Post by alx »

Apparently Slade has now done a full week of training and could possibly play against Newcastle on Saturday. Hopefully the injury doesn't adversely affect him for too long like Morgan.

Think it'd be a bit nuts to play after only a week's training, but hey-ho

I think he's been training for a while, but this was the first week where he was involved in the full week, without any additional rest. Don't see him starting, but this could be a perfect game for a return from the bench: home fixture, team at the bottom of the league, hopefully coming on for the last 15 minutes when the game's already won.

I'm sure it was 2-3 weeks ago that the official line was that he wouldnt be fit for another 6-8 weeks.

Exeter know what they're doing so we must trust them to get his reintroduction right.

As Puja says, 15-20 minutes off the bench against a team that doesnt travel well, may be ideal.

...well, we thought Wasps/England knew what they were doing with Cips :D

Fair enough though, have to trust their judgement; just seems pretty quick to me (with zero knowledge of the actual injury :) )
