Yes, and it's already well into March, and the SARU board are backing the guy facing embezzlement charges. Sure sounds like they've got their priorities sorted!

The main reason Mandela met with the failing regime and foreigners was so they could try to convince the inevitable post-revolution leader that, first, a violent revolution was not needed, and secondly that being an unreconstructed Marxist was economic lunacy. Fortunately, they succeeded. Unfortunately, they forgot to also suggest that a succession plan not involving corrupt and weak successors might also be a good idea.

Yeah, coz neoliberalism and fascism are stunning successes. Like you know any economics.
As for the maths. There are mathematic 'theories' on both sides, they are not the same as mathematical facts. I asked for maths.

If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

As I said, if that situation is not resolved before the bidding process gets underway in earnest later this year, then that will probably count against them. But charges have to be proved before their is a conviction, don't they ??

If the board members of an organisation are openly mutinying against the chairman, who is a notorious political meddler, in favour of the CEO who is facing charges for embezzlement literally months before the bidding process goes underway, then yes, that should totally count against them because it is likely that it is those people who will be organising it. I don't understand how this is such a difficult process for you to understand.

As for saying "the political situation is an internal issue and not World Rugby's concern" you could be quoting directly from the IRFB (and, indeed the NZRFU) circa 1985. What next? Meeting transformation quotas by declaring white players to be "honorary blacks"?

Are you inferring the democratic government now in place is also guilty of Apartheid? No, we are talking about corruption, and there is plenty of it around the world. The only Apartheid government in the world today that I am aware of is located in Tel Aviv, and I don't see anyone calling for a boycott of Israel. Talk about selective morality

No that's not what in saying. I'm saying that your claim that a nation's internal politics are not a concern for world sports bodies is precisely what was said to justify continued sporting links with South Africa under apartheid.

(I completely agree re Israel)

But there is corruption in many nations actively involved in World Rugby competitions. The Olympic 7s will this year be held in a country where there is corruption. No objections appear to have been raised from within the rugby fraternity. Are we only concerned about corruption when it is in Africa? If you want to compare any situation to South Africa's in 1985 it should be Israel's, because they still have an apartheid system of government, and yet they remain actively involved in World Rugby competitions. So your comment seems very strange to me. World Rugby is not going to concern itself with a corruption scandal within SA politicis any more than it is going to concern itself with David Cameron's alleged war crimes. Apartheid is an entirely different matter, of course, but the only culprit I'm aware of is Israel.
