I wore a chest cam for a game a couple of weeks ago. It's interesting tech'.....they haven't perfected it yet. The camera really needs to be head mounted but the rugby league ones look like the Borg. I'm not wearing that.

Tbh, I'm not sure why some people are so hung up on the actions of the travelling communities in this case.

For me, this was about rugby, and setting out rugby's standards. I wanted the 6N to stand up and say "There's no place for using players' ethnicities in a pejorative fashion." Not "Have a go, maybe you'll get lucky wink wink nudge nudge". I'm pretty disappointed by that, both in terms of I just don't like that and in terms of thinking that's a godawful look, PR wise.

I also wanted the 6N to stand up and say "We recognise that rugby has rules and would like to follow them, rather than the usual never ending rounds of inconsistent fudging and over-reaction that goes on in disciplinary committees". I don't care what offence it is, everytime I see a player escape a nigh-certain ban or get a ban for nothing, I get irate. As far as I can see, Marler's just escaped two nigh-certains.

Which ethnicity was involved and their reputation is very secondary to me. This isn't about them, it's about us.

It might be most people that are complaining about the issue, I suspect most couldn't care much if at all. He's damn lucky to get away with that driving forearm however.
Im more concerned with the integrity of our sport to be honest. If Lee isn't hugely offended then Im not too concerned over the particular insult; although if members of the travelling community want to take offense for what they heard on the TV then that's their right; Im not going to take it for them.

What concerns me most is that a clear offence (a racist comment under English Law) was deemed to be unworthy of punishment by the competitions disciplinary panel. That sends a terrible message, both inside and outside of the sport.
I've no problems with rugby in this, though I've a significant problem with the law.

Unfortunately it's become very clear why some take the position that they do.

Apparently this isn't done and dusted yet, as World Rugby have asked the Six Nations committee to explain what the fuck they were thinking (in politer terms) so there could still be a ban... just not in time.

Is this like when they warned the Irish and French about McGrath and Huget before the WC?

Well, we'll find out, won't we?

Meanwhile, it's an absolute joy to see rugby's acceptance of racism hit the news for yet another day. And possibly next week, should they do anything about it. And so on. So much more preferable to seeing the 6N bods get a real handle on it from the get-go.

It goes to show how fucking ridiculous the decision is that even the absentee landlord has woken from their slumber. However there needs to be a process for this rather than them just sticking their beak in when something hits the headlines.

I'm offended by the repeated use of the work f**k, and derivations of. I expect any perpetrator to be banned from the EMB for at least a week.

I was speaking to someone earlier who sits on the panels for such as Marler's latest, there are by all accounts some very mixed views on this amongst those who'd be making the call

We had pity and likeability under Burt and we're straight back to being hated in one fell swoop.

Yorkshire and Australia are very similar in many ways. They even share the same climate.
