Francis at 12 will be the big one to watch for me.

Bizarre that they've done it that way round - I thought Francis was coming to be a 10 and Mallinder wanted to be centre or 15?

Re: Glaws vs Saints
Francis first start, so perhaps a run out at 12 is the right way to go. I'm sure he will be vying for the 10 shirt soon enough.
Think Hill is injured.
Saints to maintain their very good form with a win.

Saints backline on paper next season if Collins can carry on should be very good.Puja wrote:Bizarre that they've done it that way round - I thought Francis was coming to be a 10 and Mallinder wanted to be centre or 15?

Re: Glaws vs Saints
Hill, Horne and Groom all injured. Agree that I'd play Mallinder and Francis the other way around. I expect that they will interchange in attack, but line up with Francis at 12 in defence, where he is a more solid option that Harry (despite the size difference!). Would have liked Ford-Robinson to get a start. When him and Van Wyk came on last weekend our scrum dominated Quins, which it hadn't all game. He also offers a lot in the loose and has quite a turn of pace for a tighthead. Glos front row looks very good on paper, and I'm wary of Trinder running around Burrell.

Re: Glaws vs Saints
I'm just hoping that there is a monumental reaction from Glos after last weeks debacle. Suspect we will lose, but if it's for the lack of trying there should be hell to pay. Home advantage ought to keep the score tight at the very least.
Out of interest, the following are unavailable for selection through injury:-
Mark Atkinson, Fraser Balmain, Tom Denton, Gareth Evans, Lloyd Evans, Mariano Galarza, Tom Marshall, Ben Morgan, Ross Moriarty, Matt Scott, Charlie Sharples, Andy Symons, Ollie Thorley

Would you seriously pick Burrell over Horne at 13?!Tigersman wrote:Saints backline on paper next season if Collins can carry on should be very good.Puja wrote:Bizarre that they've done it that way round - I thought Francis was coming to be a 10 and Mallinder wanted to be centre or 15?

Re: Glaws vs Saints
I was right to be worried about Trinder vs Burrell, Trinder gets past him with ease for their first try.

He then redeems himself with a nice pass in the lead up to a try. Like the look of Francis so far, making nice passes right on the line

You can tell Wayne Barnes was born in Gloucestershire, ignored multiple forward passes and Glos players laying all over the ball at the breakdown close to their line

After a couple of weeks of nice rugby, Saints seem to have regressed into passing the ball to stationary players and no one running any lines. Pretty dull stuff.

Very much so, incredibly frustrating after the last couple of weeks of promise. It's alright though because Jim has pulled Francis off for Myler... who needs a super rugby 10 in the sideBanquo wrote:not good. is it lack of go forward from the er forwards?Adam_P wrote:After a couple of weeks of nice rugby, Saints seem to have regressed into passing the ball to stationary players and no one running any lines. Henry Trinder just oozed total class there today, just hope he has a decent run staying injury free. Such a shame all the rugby he has missed over recent years

Re: Glaws vs Saints
With a kicker who could nail points that could and should have been more comfortable. As it was, it was tense and nervy, but any win we'll take right now.
Barnes ignored plenty of offside from Northampton and was talked out of a yellow by Hartley which most refs would have given, all in all he was pretty fair though I thought.

Just watching the highlights he had a cracking game.
