Yeah even though sarries have some big name players they all play each other and have such a good team spirit. Every one busts a gut to support each other.
So many prem teams look like they are just operating on a different wave length to each other and just doing what ever.

100% agree, Farrell being described at a true competitor rather than a petulant bitch really winds me up.
Saints in the first half just don't look like they dont care. No aggression in the contact, no desire to play any rugby. Everyone apart from Lawes need a a rocket at half time.

Re: Champions Cup - Week 1
Lawes over the last 12 months has become one of the top 5 locks in the game IMO.
I used to knock him as a bit of a one hit wonder (A hell of a hit mind) but his all round game has been truly amazing to watch esp his carrying.
Re the Farrell thing Harrison elbowed Faz first in the exact same way as Faz did to Harrison so if Faz was to go so should Harrison IMO.

Harrison didn't make an illegal tackle though, that's what he should have a yellow for. And being a twat.Tigersman wrote:

And if you're carding people for being a twat than Mallinder jnr would have 7 red cards in his career already.

That's been the case since Hilly and Big Dave Seymour. The SA pension fund knew exactly what they were buying into.twitchy wrote:Yeah even though sarries have some big name players they all play each other and have such a good team spirit. Every one busts a gut to support each other.

I'm listening to Paul Grayson on the radio....he thought it was 2 yellows. One for the forearm smash and one for the tackle.

How was it not? Foden was clearly lifted above the horizontal and landed on his back, which to the letter of the law, like it or not, is a yellow card.

landing on the back isn't illegal.
and how can it be past horizontal and land on his back?
Surely if he was past horizontal he would land on his upper shoulder and neck.

Isn't the law 'legs above horizontal'? Which they were.Tigersman wrote:landing on the back isn't illegal.

It was a few years ago that the moniker CGS- (CourtneyGoSmash) became ironic. I still use it deliberately because I was so wrong.Tigersman wrote:Lawes over the last 12 months has become one of the top 5 locks in the game IMO.

His exposure to Launch' was probably the catalyst to become more complete. I reckon even Launch' will concede he's taken the information and run with it.

Re: Champions Cup - Week 1
Are you being intentionally obtuse? If you land on neck or head it's red, back or shoulders it's yellow. He is judged to be above the horizontal because he legs were up in the air. I don't agree with this law because it's pathetic, but if it's the law it should be enforced. Countless tackles like that are yellow carded.Tigersman wrote:landing on the back isn't illegal.

It seems Saints used up all their decent rugby in the couple of weeks after round 1, we're now back to being completely clueless

Saints will require a larger shift in their tactics to compensate for the new laws.Adam_P wrote:It seems Saints used up all their decent rugby in the couple of weeks after round 1, we're now back to being completely clueless
I might be talking balls,.....I'm listening on the radio.

Foden lying at the bottom of a ruck adjusting his hair doo says it all about Saints attitude today.

Pathetic from every single Saints player other than Lawes. Saracens incredibly accurate and relentless. Very few unforced errors and won pretty much every single collision.

Re: Champions Cup - Week 1
Saracens were very good but that "effort" from Saints is nowhere near good enough for a team in this competition. Hats off to Lawes who played a lone hand at times, the rest of the line up were abject.

Stauart Barnes will outdo himself this week agreeing with his article last week on Saints, do they know what they've done?

Yup, goes in wearing his head-bandage, comes out looking mighty unhappy, and goes straight for the head-bandage.Adam_P wrote:Yeah that video of Louw doesn't look good at all, much worse than Sinckler.
The French ref in the Saints game has just given away the quickest penalty for not rolling away I think I've ever seen.
Absolutely no question that he's got fingers on the face, and look pretty close to the eyes, though I'll await a better video than the one I've seen before deciding that as an absolute.
Should be missing for a fair bit I'd have thought - just depends how close to the eyes.

I wouldn’t have said it’s as bad as Sinckler from the available footage. Sinckler there was a still frame shot of his finger on/in Paterson’s eye.
