I thought he caught him high in the neck region without going back to look at it, which would be similar to Hughes.

Hughes’ was much worse than that.

Hughes might have had more of a swinging arm and greater speed of contact, but the actual connection seemed similar in nature

Can anyone be arsed to go find video clips though? Otherwise it sounds like we're all talking out of our arses trying to remember a brief clip from a little while ago.

I firmly believe I'm a voice of moderation and reason, the rest of you not so much. Mells was okay until he started quoting himself in his efforts to be more like Rowan.

If you want to perfect talking out of your arse then who better to copy.

Is Wade injured or now behind Woodburn? If the latter then blimey is the word which springs to mind, though there is Woodburn plays on the left.

Based on form it’s hard to argue. Based on a plethora of other metrics it’s hard not to argue.

I clearly haven’t seen enough of Woodburn to see all his flaws. I can’t say he struck me as international quality at first but he’s playing as well as anyone. He seems a good all round talent but never paid much attention to his defence. Is it a concentration thing?

it used to be, not so long ago. I'm told the issue has all but gone, and even had its existence questioned :)

Fair enough. Weirdly I would have had James Short in exactly the same bracket, who I had assumed would have had his wing spot this year after an impressive season last time out.

He got injured, but he's a decent player....but behind Nowell and Woodburn seemingly anyway.

Every time I see Woodburn play he strikes me as a very effective player at AP level. It could be though that most of that arises by the way Exeter use him and play to his strengths. Underrated imo but agree that he doesn't look a world beater.

So an awful quality video of the scrummaging session is available. And if it is England facing (and seemingly going forwards on their put in), I'd guess Robshaw is seen as the backup 8? Is there another blond backrow?

Underhill's blond. But it would make sense for Robshaw to be the cover if we're having a flank on the bench, as he has played there before. Wouldn't be my first choice, but he'll do if Hughes gets injured.

Hmm - not sure I like the idea of Robshaw at 8. I’m sure he’d do a reasonable job of controlling the ball at the base of the scrum and linking with the scrum half but he’s not exactly known for his carrying threat.

I know Eddie called out Armand for lacking carrying power, but I’d say he’s a more powerful carrier than Robshaw and Wilson is probably better than both.

It’s OK as a stop-gap/emergency solution, but if Hughes were to go down in the 1st minute, I wouldn’t want Robshaw holding the fort at 8 for the other 79!
