For fuck's sake. The guy deserves some luck, really feel for him.

Fcking Ashton on the bench.

For the first time in my life I'm feeling a bit bored of England (rugby team). Thanks Eddie.

Apparently will be fine for next week.

Wonder if this was always the case and eddie is playing mind games?

Just so totally and completely predictable ...

On the plus side, it doesn’t sound too serious.

Hopefully just an ultra cautious, “we’ve waited 4 years for you to be fit, what’s an extra week” kind of thing.

Bloody annoying though.

Damn it. Now what happens when Te'o needs to go off... We get Ford, Farrell, Slade. Which is going to, well, do exactly what Slade said he wasn't good at :D

Unless, of course, we put Daly at 13 and Ashton at FB :D:D:D The Boks will be laughing all the way to the try line!

I think Ashton and Ford are starters or nothing. You can make a case for either starting (not that I'd choose them) but just what is their value as replacements? Ford for Farrell is the only sensible change in a straight swap at FH. Moving Farrell to 12 is stifling.

Ashton is an attacking maverick but having him as cover for back three/centres involves shuffling. I'd have got Brown back instead. At least he provides solidity at FB with Daly doing the versatility bit.

Ford, Slade, Daly at 10, 12, 13 might just cause SA problems if T'eo departs.

When is JJ likely to be fit?

That really is crap. Manu and England deserve some luck on the injury front.

Ashton over Manu makes that a better bench imo

Not if Te'o goes off early it doesn't. And he will.

When he does, the options are either moving Daly to centre with Ashton to full-back or Farrell to centre and Ford to fly half.
Ashton often played at 15 for Toulon, but I'd prefer not to move Daly.
Or maybe Nowell to full-back?

I'd've thought Nowell to centre would be a more likely option. Eddie did go through that phase of naming Nowell in squad with the "inside backs" and it would likely be the least disruptive option.

Seems odd to me; absent a genuine utility back, every bench will have a specialist FH sat there; and then either a specialist centre or a specialist back3 player.

JJ is due back in a couple of weeks
