Brown-nosing the messiah, greatest fly half and leader of men since the world began; Owen Farrell.

Interesting that Itoje was speaking up and was a match day capt.
Nothing new that Farrell brings intensity. Still nothing about his world class decision making on the gain line and precison passing. ;)

That is actually very encouraging vis-a-vis his leadership. We can't see all that goes on there, but what was on show in South Africa didn't fill me wih confidence.

Sorry, I'll make sure to only add articles with content that sheds new light on something going forward.

A few people have been saying that he's not a captain (me included in the past), which perhaps this article contradicts. Wiggly Wigglesworth suggesting that his decision making is excellent too, which some have questioned.

The content is fairly relevant to the thread and what's been discussed recently.

Times ‘the ruck’ podcast:
“.....he has to come off the bench and rescue them”
“Owen came on in the second half and turned it around.”

Lynagh saying the two terrible first halfs are a worry. Thank goodness Farrell stayed on to rescue them against SA.

To be fair, our forwards looked like U10s vs SA in the 1st half... King Owen did play well in the 2nd half.

Seriously though chaps, I'm not chairman of Farrel fan-club UK or anything so I'm nowhere close in my opinions on him to Lynagh and other fanboys, I've just felt that Farrell got too much unjust stick on here.

It’s not a dig at you. It’s just another example of the meeja lionising him beyond what he has actually accomplished. They all call him Owen, too. It’s just weird.

No I know it wasn't mate, just putting my hand up and backing away from defending Farrell at this point, I don't want to sound too much like Lynagh and the rest of them.

The meeja certainly love him, a lot; on that point I will not argue.

Finally! Another one bored into submission. We can all now go back to agreeing about everything until Diggers has one snowball too many and starts banging on about Kvesic, or Matt as he calls him.

Classic openside play and a leading cartoonist, the man's a genius

I get this entirely - I've been the one voice saying "He's not that bad" against everyone on here before and it ends up feeling like you're championing him just because the position's so opposed to everyone else in the thread! You are not alone!

Although I'd still rather have Ford at 10 as things stand.

Look at the mod trying to be a man of the people. Get back to your ivory tower with the rest of the establishment.

Whilst not discernable and likely to fail many actual encounters with sides from other nations it's important to be guided by the will of the people

In rugby, as in politics, what we think matters little.

Why is Farrell different? Why are we not allowed to criticise him?

I miss the arguments of the 6.5 flankers.

I'm actually quite entertained by how quickly the NZ fans have gone to pieces over losing two games in a calendar year. "What is wrong with us and can it ever be fixed? Or are we doomed to losing the occasional test match against other excellent sides, like peasants?"

They just need a long range kicker.

This has pleased me greatly too…

What I wouldn't give to be in their position!
