epic commentary: Someone, somewhere will impact this game. Potentially.

Brace yourselves for Poite whistling us out of the game for the last 12 mins and a couple of breakaway Irish scores...

What a shocker he's had. Hogg taken out of the game, Seymour taken out in the air, constant Irish blocking & telling us hands off when competing for the ball legally...

You have given away some sloppy penalties though.

Not sure if I should congratulate Ireland for winning when they're shite or be pissed off because Scotland seemed to be trying to out shite them.

Completely agree, we were poor.

In the past I've been accepting of the fact we were shit - because we were shit. It's infuriating at the moment because I really do think these guys have the potential to be beating Ireland, Wales, France and maybe even England on a regular basis.

I think Toony really needs to look at getting a sports psychologist into the camp on a full time basis. Or something like that. I don't recall the minute but if you recall Earls gathering a kick in an almost identical position to Seymour/Maitland - he scurried into touch. Ireland may get outplayed once in a while but they RARELY make poor decisions - they know how to take the correct percentage play. Our decision making is just miles and miles behind the other top sides.

Sure, on our day it comes off and we carve teams open and put a huge scoreline on them but then there's days like this. There is no happy medium.

The other quite concerning observation is that the game we are trying to play is exactly how not to progress in knock-out rugby. You need to consistently string performances together - something we've never really done under toony.

So what exactly is the plan in Japan?

Bad decisions, horrendous handling, awful one-on-one tackling (or even two-on-one tackling) but the thingyhat stumps me is who I hate more right now; O’Mahoney or Poite? Piote is clueless in his cuntery whereas O’Mahoney knows, yet has the gall to bitch and moan at the same time.

We didn’t deserve to win that. But we blew it big time I the first half, and compounded it with a total failure to hold possession in the second.

Why were they trying to play a slow, possession based game against the Irish anyway? And a ref who isn't exactly known for free flowing rugby...?

Toony has to answer for that one. But he never will, will he? Just needs to nick a win against Wales or France and it'll all be okay.

Pretty emotional now but I think there's merit in arguing VC was a better coach. Perhaps Toony should have been brought in as the attack coach for a season or two before being promoted.

Imagine an alternate universe where Kinghorn starts, doesn't flap and throw what would be kind to describe as a hospital pass and Ireland don't score from virtually their first touch of the ball.

Only if it's the same one where you get a round in at the QF.

I wanted to say something positive and constructive about today’s game but the best I can come up with is that you managed to slightly edge the head-to-heads in Shit passing, idiotic decision making, unforced handling errors and unnecessary penalties. Also, those pictures we have of Poite and the goat are really paying off.

Well done to the Irish, when another team tries to hand it to you with errors you still need to take it.

Had a kids party this afternoon with mu eldest then watched that. Shit afternoon
