Against your lot that maybe important. Against our lot not so much. We give up metres for fun v big lads.morepork wrote:Big D wrote:That cockanasinga is enormous.

I think his first play of the game disproved that.morepork wrote:Big D wrote:That cockanasinga is enormous.

He had a pretty good game. He's massive, fast, decent in the air and not selfish - uses the ball well.morepork wrote:Big D wrote:That cockanasinga is enormous.

The thread is the Scotland squad v Wales & England. We struggle against big lads. He is a big lad that plays for England.Mikey Brown wrote:You’re aware this is the Scottish board? I mean I suppose we may have to see Darcy Graham tackle him next week so maybe it’s relevant.
Graham, Ritchie, Watson and Hastings are the few that spring to mind to come out of that game with some real credit.
Assuming the worst and that our 6 first choice back three players are all out (Hogg, Kinghorn, Seymour, Maitland, Graham and Harris, plus I guess Jones), where does that leave us?Big D wrote:The thread is the Scotland squad v Wales & England. Our 1st 4 choice wings as of FT yesterday are injured.
Have to say I thought Russell looked a tad unfocussed, and got up unsteadily a few times, looked to me like he might have come back a week or so early from concussion?switchskier wrote:Assuming the worst and that our 6 first choice back three players are all out (Hogg, Kinghorn, Seymour, Maitland, Graham and Harris, plus I guess Jones), where does that leave us?Big D wrote:The thread is the Scotland squad v Wales & England. At fullback I guess it could mean a call up for Jackson as I don't see Fife as an international, certainly not at fullback. Saying that, Hastings did quite well there yesterday I thought.
On the wing Mcguigan would take one slot and for the other do we call up Lee Jones? Or take a punt on promoting some of the young and in form centres (McDowell, Johnstone and Hutchinson) and see if one of them could cover? Hughes or Hoyland maybe? Who am I forgetting?
I realise how snarky that sounded now. I genuinely thought it might just be the post-match spilling over in here.Big D wrote:The thread is the Scotland squad v Wales & England. Our play in the red zone has been absolutely tragic. It's embarrassingly bad. Yesterdays second half reminded me of the Nov game against Wales. We had most of the possession and territory but fuck all to show for it.Big D wrote:Conceding easy tries ramps up the pressure on Finn to do something special. It's like the Edinburgh give it to Bill or the back 3 gameplan.Chunks Baws wrote:Our play in the red zone has been absolutely tragic. It's embarrassingly bad. Get that, but I thought he looked a bit woozy a few times.Big D wrote:Conceding easy tries ramps up the pressure on Finn to do something special. There's no coherent red zone patterns and it's like the plan is "ach sure Finn will do something".
No wonder. Strolled through the racing game last week surrounded by quality then this week surrounded by pishBanquo wrote:Get that, but I thought he looked a bit woozy a few times.Big D wrote:Conceding easy tries ramps up the pressure on Finn to do something special. Winning for the first time in Twickenham since 1983 would definitely make up for the previous 4 games. Doing it with all of the injuries that we have would, in some ways, be even better.Mikey Brown wrote:It seems ridiculous to not put out the best team for a 6 nations game, but there’s nothing on the line for Scotland and plenty for Glasgow/Edinburgh.
Really disappointed with this 6 nations and GT’s development. I can’t imagine what could happen next week that would change that.
All complete valid and perhaps part of me is spitting the dummy out, so to speak, but i think they're going to get pumped anyway.switchskier wrote:Winning for the first time in Twickenham since 1983 would definitely make up for the previous 4 games. On the other hand, the 6N is still the biggest rugby tournament for me. Seeing us deliberately put out a second string team for any game would really hurt. It would be even worse to watch them get annihilated by a record score against a massively unsubtle England team.
I don't think it would.switchskier wrote:Winning for the first time in Twickenham since 1983 would definitely make up for the previous 4 games.
