Keeps popping up on Netflix. What's it about? I've got plenty of time at nights to kill whilst I'm in Glasgow on this course. I could go and dish out soap to the locals but I've got a feeling it would be a waste of time.

That's because Netflix have just made and released the 3rd season.
I've not seen the 3rd season yet, but it's well worth catching, though a little hit-and-miss episode to episode.

Ha... Ah, Its sort of self contained short stories based in the near future. It's basically a social commentary, some of it subtle, some of it, more from the Neill Blomkamp school of punching you in the face with the metaphor. The latest season in my humble is probably the weakest of them, they aren't bad, but the first and second seasons are excellent.

Sounds far too high brow for me.

Didn't realise there was a third series of Black Mirror!

Looks like I will have some decent filler between now and episode 5 of Westworld.

You can say that again- is it the first episode the PM is asked to f*** a pig?
(not really a spoiler after all the references with DavCam's porcine BJ)

2 episodes in from the third series of Black Mirror, and so far, so good. The first one certainly struck a chord as the parent of a teenager who seems to be constantly attached the a phone. Some of the scenes were a little daft though. The second one was very good, different but good.

Can certainly detect Brooker's thoughts on technology and social media, just as much as the previous series.

I see what you mean and I agree to some extent but I think some of those stories, even the weaker ones, may develop throughout the series and if they don't, all tv shows have filler. I was a little WTF was that all about in a few scenes of some episodes, including 5, but overall I think it's an outstanding show.

Anyone know how many episodes Westworld will be? These days I prefer to grab the lot and watch at my own leisure once they're all on the box.

I have a serious dichotomy with Charlie Brooker. He represents my views but I also think he's a twat.
Same with Jonathan Freedland/Sam Bourne......I laughed deeply when Corbyn said he was 'not a nice guy'.

I kinda gave up on it during season 6. The format just seemed to be going around in circles; the group moves to a new place, met some new people, they turned out to be baddies, fight/power struggle, occasional death to group member, escape, rinse and repeat.

When I first started to watch it, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not usually a fan of zombie stuff as I just find it so hard to buy into it but I thought the writers and actors made a decent job of it.

I may give it another go at some point.

It's absolutely crazy how much they messed that up. It's a good simple premise, it was so entertaining watching everyone them smash zombies heads in. They tried to take it up a level and completely failed. The last few series just seemed to be endless sappy monologues from a load of unnecessary, cardboard characters. It seems to rely entirely on cliffhangers, even more than breaking bad did.

For some weird reason I watched the opener of this recent series, proof that the cliffhanger/hype/suspense angle really does work, but it was just the same old thing with a new face on the villain.

Apologies that that sounds so angry, but it was great. That's what is so frustrating. That siege episode in the last series was one of the best they've ever done, it made me think it might get back on track.

Is black mirror on netflix?

Currently engaged most by westworld, altho hugely confused, cant decipher the storyline(s) at all. Is the man in black a customer, a glitch or one of the parks creations? Still, its well enough made that its keeping me interested.

Gave up on walking dead after season 3, same story line rehashed over and over.
It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
