good! :). If nothing else, building some confidence away from the intl scene, and maybe getting some games in at 15....though I still rate him as a 10.

Furbank has played a lot more at 10 in the last two seasons than Malins. I’d like to say Malins hasn’t played any 10 other than in an emergency in that time but I don’t have any empirical evidence for that and I know the board frowns upon any assertion that isn’t referenced with at least three peer reviewed sources.
suspect Furbank has played more at 15 as well!

All it says on BBC website:

"The uncapped Harlequins pair of wing Louis Lynagh and centre Luke Northmore have both been included, as has Wasps tyro Alfie Barbeary, while Nic Dolly has replaced Jamie Blamire as Jamie George's back-up at hooker."

Because it can be "just" a 6-day stand-down if no further symptoms

Fair enough. I'm always applying the 21 day rule for Juniors and 19 days for senior players as my headcase instructions dictate. Still gobsmacked how that can be reduced to 6 days if you play for England.

It's not "if you play for England", it's "if you access to the medical care of aa professional club" and pass each stage of the RTP protocols, that Joe bloggs typicalyl bypasses

Yes I was being a little flippant. Still think 6 days is too few, just my view though.

Fair enough, and it goes against my instincts as well - but I'm happy that it was what was suggested by actual experts, and is the same regardless of sport.

My current view on concussion in rugby is "we should be doing more - but I've no idea what that would look like, and I don't pretend to know more than the experts... but I disagree with them anyway"

I'm also very used to correcting mis-conceptions on what concussion is, and what the reg.s are around it.

Blamire, Willis, Bailey, Malins, Mitchell and OH-C cut from the squad.
Heyes retained in case Sinckler doesnt pass HIA I imagine.
Daly likely to play left wing. Underhill set to play 7.
Be a very bold coach who would select Barbeary, Northmore or Lynagh for this match.
Mind you, we are stuck with Dolly in the matchday 23.

Well hello, Dolly. Weird.
I fear for us, now I've thought about it :(

I’m in agreement. Certain timescales ‘feel’ wrong, I’m not an expert but I deal with concussion outcomes weekly and concur more needs to be done. Any further advancement of the saliva test that was going to be groundbreaking a while ago?

What happened with Sinkler? I wasn't aware if he went off due to injury or was just subbed. Is the memory I have of him lying flat on his face on our 5 metre line from Saturday or was that the Wales game?

Malins axed. No surprises there.

Daly on wing with Furbank 23?

Or Lynagh to start against little fella in scrum cap

Oh gods, that is *exactly* what he's planning to do, isn't it? Steward on the wing so they can target the French back three with cross-field kicks.

The little fella in the scrum cap is looking the best all-round wing in the 6N. In addition to his speed and running skills, he's a surprisingly powerful bloke for his size and usually gets through some impressive work at the breakdown.
