Re: The Rugby Magazine - Fantasy Rugby
I decided to roll the dice and took a 20 point hit to bring in Ford and Thacker as I think both will score well this week.
Probably my toughest week in terms of selection dilemmas having most of my squad available to choose for the first time in ages.

Thacker Is consistently one my highest scorers. Plus he can be played at hooker or flanker.

Yeah - definitely useful. My debate was only whether to take the points hit to free up the cash to sign both. I hope it was worth it!

I had a choice of buying a centre/wing, bench hooker, or both. I bought another premium back

Looks like it’s going to be one of my lowest scoring weeks. The points may change but I have a lot of players on single digits as it stands and only four starters yet to play.

Yes, it’s an odd week. I have two players on nil points and another 2 on single digit points.Scrumhead wrote:Looks like it’s going to be one of my lowest scoring weeks. The points may change but I have a lot of players on single digits as it stands and only four starters yet to play.

I got almost every selection wrong and will have cost myself at least 50 points I could have had plus the -20 for the extra transfer. Looking highly likely to lose my Cup game too.

Yeah, had a choice: Marchant or Morahan. Went for the former...
This week kinda killed my chances of finishing anywhere but bottom of everyone who started on time.
I have a blind spot because of teams I've not liked and players I would never pick irl... But who score well in the game.

I know what you mean. It’s probably not a coincidence that I only have one Sarries player (Lewington). I plan to get rid of him next round too!

I've had to take a 40 point hit just to get a team out this week, along with 3 on the bench not even playing. Not too many injuries just lots of players dropped by the respective club.

Yeah - I’ve not had to drop points, but I’m missing some of my stalwarts and my side feels like it’s no more than OK.
That said, I really liked the side I put out in the last round and ended-up with one of my lowest scoring weeks the season.

My squad's unbalanced with selections - all of my props are playing, I've got my choice of hookers, I've got about 7 viable back row to pick from, but my backs are a motley arrangement of whomever is starting that week.

Yeah - that’s similar to mine. Too many good players starting in some positions and scrabbling for starters in others.

The points might shift in some positions, but as it stands, I’m 1st overall in the game week for the first time ever!
Moved up in to the overall top 20 for the first time too, so we’ll happy with that!

With the exception of Puja moving up one place in to 6th, it’s ‘as you were’ following round 18.

I had a mixed week. I was above the average as usual for everyone who plays but quite a bit below average for this board which is the much tougher competition.

Re: The Rugby Magazine - Fantasy Rugby
A reasonable week for me with 442 points which saw me move up a place in the league. Just for sh*ts and giggles I started my team for next year taking into account players leaving, retiring etc. The biggest headache was working out any nailed on world cup starters who will pretty much be away until November and away for the 6 nations. Will they be worth the small amount of games they will play?

This week was the final straw for WLR. 1 point yet again. At least I'll be able to buy 2 players from him

They won't at all - the Prem will be delayed till the knockouts if it's anything like 2015 was.Scrumhead wrote:Yeah - I’ve done something similar.Shiny wrote:A reasonable week for me with 442 points which saw me move up a place in the league. Re: The Rugby Magazine - Fantasy Rugby
The first matches are at the beginning of September with the final at the beginning of November. I expect the squads will meetup in early to mid August so I don't think any world cup players of any nation to do any club pre-season or play at all. I think its fair to say that world cup players of higher placed nations won't play for their clubs until early to mid November and taking into account European comps I think they may only get a handful of premiership games before xmas. Then potentially away for the 6 nations I'm not sure if international superstars will be worth buying until March time.Scrumhead wrote:Yeah - I’ve done something similar.Shiny wrote:A reasonable week for me with 442 points which saw me move up a place in the league.
