much as i'd love that to be true, we don't quite have the strength in depth that means we can field an all black, a springbok, a kiwi under 20 captain and 5 full irish internationals in our seconds.

not a great game. Big D, you might think you wouldn't have deserved the win but the general feeling on munster forums is that we stole that win. the embra scrum and defence were very good. nothing between the sides. lots of errors.

I think munster were decent value for the win tbh. They controlled the 2nd half. The defence held but it there were lots of missed tackles and a couple of last gasp tackles/interventions.

The scrum held up well which was the only real positive. McCallum as an academy player at 20/21 stood up well for 45-50mim v Kilcoyne and Cosgrove was effective too.

Where I think was a big difference was that you had players who can control the tempo of a game. Yes there were too many kicks out on the full but your 10 can control a game. Neither of the Edinburgh 10 or 12 can do this and it showed tonight for spells.

Burleigh is a bit a favourite on the Edinburgh forum but for me he shouldn't be getting a good deal in the summer.

Edinburgh have academy players who I'd be tempted to chances to in the backline for the rest of the season. Galbraith is playing 10 for London Scottish this weekend but is a centre that could be recalled. The u20 10 and 12 looked good at times tonight. There'd be no harm in giving them a chance.

Load of nonsense if you ask me. Bennett would be wasted at Edinburgh. I hope he doesn't make the move.

Rumours that Edinburgh are courting Cockerill. I am coming round to that idea. Would do the players no harm to have a right cunt (in the good sense) coaching them. No nicey nicey bollocks, just someone who will work them hard and take no shit.

Im not sure I buy that. I'm pretty sure that was the job Solomans was brought in to do. Im not against Cockerill but only if he persuades them that he is a modern coach

Solomans was a dictator who crucified anyone who didn't play his way. Cockerill is a hard bastard but doesn't come across as a dictator just someone that expects high standards.

Just when you think Edinburgh couldn't be run any worse.

I'm speechless.

Don't understand that one at all. Seems to be 3rd choice, though I guess that he doesn't have that much of a bit against the wage bill. Would suggest either that there's no faith in the academy players, that one of SHC or Kennedy is on their way or that Hodge has relatively little say and isn't getting the job full time.

Who's George Horne with? Weegies? If not would much rather see him than Fowles getting game time.

Thinking the exact same thing. Petrie is way out of his depth.

Unfortunately suggests that Berghan is still near the Scotland squad. No CDP is interesting. Can't see any of the back row lads being dropped so I guess he travels as cover.

That team goes to show that our depth isn't that bad, there's just a lack of really good players to lift the overall level.

Interesting that Kennedy is still being preferred.

SHC, Kinghorn or Burleigh to cover ten?

Yeah, it's on Alba so looking forward to it. Also is McInally firmly third choice now then?
