Lavin is back in training and with everyone having a long lay off he shouldn't be too far behind everybody else. He was unlucky with the injury last season because it meant he missed out on the A league and last round of cup games where he could have tried to stand out. I really liked what I saw of him in the 7s I was hoping he'd get a chance in the first team, had a bit of the Guy Thompson about him.Tigersman wrote:Lavin has a pretty nasty injury playing for Yorkshire so will be rusty.
Wiese isn’t here till Next season
Brink isn’t doing contact training till next month
Mid week matches
I suspect the back row will get a lot of rotation the rest of this season and player might be able to stake a claim
The big thing I like about Taylor is his CV is built around that age of 18-22.
Even with a few not available we should still have;
6. Liebenburg, Lewis, Lavin
7. Reffell, Wallace
8. Taufua, Coghlan, T Smith
Obviously it'll look better when the added Bok bruisers are available but that should get us through. Well just need to be a bit clever around the the mid week game to make sure we get a blend of experience as the mid week game, the tendency will be to try and keep Liebenburg and Taufua together in the strongest back row for the weekend games but the midweek game is on paper the one we should get a result in, LI at home.
Possibly split the lacks something like;
Weekend:
Genge, Youngs, Cole
Lavanini, Enever
Lewis, Taufua, Wallace
Mid week:
Gigena, Mukashvilli, Heyes
Green, Wells
Liebenburg, Coghlan, Reffell
Can probably keep the same front row of Kerr, Leatigaga, Dimen for the three games as they'll only play 15-20 minutes per game, possibly less with the stamina of Cole and Genge. Locks and backrows will be the development lads so they can be rotated to experiment a bit. I'm thinking Martin and Henderson for the locks and T Smith and Lavin for the backrows.
