Yes obviously. But Carley was at fault too.padprop wrote:Is that not bristols job?Banquo wrote:He should have been paying attention to the game if he didn’t call time offpadprop wrote:Only reason Carley was explaining was because bristol players were complaining on the floor.

Yeah, I don't mind him being extra hard on him in the breakdown, when it's easy to pick fault, but that's twice now in the maul he's told him to get out for no good reason that I can see.Banquo wrote:As I’d conjectured before, think Carley is trying to mark his cardRaggs wrote:Why does Willis need to come out for the first time? Agreed, but just think it would be unfair to chalk to off because Carley wasnt facing the right wayBanquo wrote:Yes obviously. But Carley was at fault too.padprop wrote:Is that not bristols job?Banquo wrote: He should have been paying attention to the game if he didn’t call time off

I think the law says that the tap has to be taken in front of the referee which it wasn't. The laws also say the ref is sole interpreter of the laws so if he says it's ok then it is. If it happens again in the final I'd put money on a different ref reaching a different decision though.Banquo wrote:What do the laws say?FKAS wrote:Quick thinking by Robson but surely you can't tap behind the ref when he's still talking.
That try kills the game, Wasps have dominated.
As a neutral I very much hope they get all their big names back for the final. They will need them against Chiefs as they have looked ominous all season.Banquo wrote:That kills the game you’d think. Just hope Wasps get some of their wounded back.
Bristol need to tighten up and focus otherwise this could get silly. 60 points isn't out the question with 11 minutes left.

Didn’t say it should be. Carley should be chalked off for not doing his job properly.padprop wrote:Agreed, but just think it would be unfair to chalk to off because Carley wasnt facing the right wayBanquo wrote:Yes obviously. But Carley was at fault too.padprop wrote:

Think if you allow Hughes' from in front of the mark, you need to allow that one too.FKAS wrote:I think the law says that the tap has to be taken in front of the referee which it wasn't. Just had a quick look, and no reference in the short form laws that I can see.FKAS wrote:I think the law says that the tap has to be taken in front of the referee which it wasn't. Willis motm, Robson and Rowlands mentioned in dispatches. Shields quietly effective imo. Oh and Launchbury was good too

Get the feeling that the officials are trying to even this up?

I just think Carley is a bit crap. Never normally have a go at refs eitherRaggs wrote:Get the feeling that the officials are trying to even this up?

I think I'm on board with Willis, Underhill, Curry with Vunipola off the bench.

Curry can do it, and do it perfectly well.Banquo wrote:Id still rather start a specialist 8.Mikey Brown wrote:I think I'm on board with Willis, Underhill, Curry with Vunipola off the bench.

Not sure Exeter will give Wasps that much freedom to play, but with an extra week's rest?
Interesting call if Fekitoa isn't fit. De Jongh is a better bet at 13 than Booj, but has only played once since the restart so wont be match sharp

I am aware of that- I just think Billy is better there. I’m not one who criticised Curry. Curry would be my openside, with Willis at 6.Raggs wrote:Curry can do it, and do it perfectly well.Banquo wrote:Id still rather start a specialist 8.Mikey Brown wrote:I think I'm on board with Willis, Underhill, Curry with Vunipola off the bench.

Wasps have done incredibly well with their resources, and the coaches deserve much praise.

Gopperth quietly pulled the strings with Umaga as well. Massive boost he's back. Willis deserved that man of the match award he was everywhere. Hopefully he'll refine with some international game time and then what a player England will have, he's already quite a player as well. Eddie was there I can't see him overlooking Willis.Banquo wrote:Willis motm, Robson and Rowlands mentioned in dispatches. Shields quietly effective imo. Oh and Launchbury was good too
Quite the turnaround at Wasps. Unrecognisable from the turn of the year.

Still going with the refine line eh? It’s less about that imo than learning to play at a much higher pace and intensity. It was all about the forwards and gain line today, ultimately; Wasps did Bristol at the breakdown.FKAS wrote:Gopperth quietly pulled the strings with Umaga as well. Massive boost he's back. Bris not at their best. Made too many errors and got led up some blind alleys by a very well organised defence.
Hats off to Wasps, though. That was a tremendous all round effort.
Willis simply has to play for England this autumn. Robson is making a very strong case for a chance.

There were big holes out wide for Brizz, but Wasps prevented them getting good ball to exploit them regularly.fivepointer wrote:Bris not at their best. Made too many errors and got led up some blind alleys by a very well organised defence.
