I kinda think Bennet has been off the boil for a while and a change may be a good thing for him

You can call this harsh but Bennet flucked up an easy try for Glasgow against Cardiff last season which would have gien them the extra point to basically get a home semi, they missed it by a point and went to Connaught and lost, but since then Bennet seems to have struggled, i had hoped the Olympics would have changed that but he still seems to drift in and out of games and an occasional brain fart

This for me is why he lost the 13 shirt for Scotland and why a change me be good for him

Agreed. He's naturally talented enough to run in some tries and still have good moments but he's not looked to terrify defences that much for a while.

But for the millionth time it is insane we're in a position to viably leave a guy of that quality out of the centres.

Interesting that Kennedy and McInally are nowhere to be seen.

I wonder if Kinghorn on the bench has anything to do with VC? Unlikely.

A full Scots qualified back row also suggests the Scottish back row injuries aren't too bad.

McInally will be held out incase Brown is out next week. Although he needs match time the risk of injury is too high.

Wouldn't read too much into king blairhorn on bench. He's started nearly every game iirc.

Same with the backrow. Du preez needs gametime, Ritchie's not in contention just yet and Bradbury may be but bench at most I reckon

Kennedy is the only one with a chance at the squad I reckon. Probably just the wider squad mind.

Edinburgh butchered two sure tries IMO. hard to come back from that away to Leinster.

There are times when I wonder if Neil Cochrane is the best hooker playing in Scotland right now.

20-3. 55th minute. Edinburgh are three tries down and starting to tire. Loads of possession but unable to score.

4th try

Watching Edinburgh is so frustrating. So many individual mistakes. They score, and Leinster score straight back. 39-10

Having half backs that can barely pass doesn't help. Chris Dean seem to have nice hands any chance he could try?

Even the most devout Edinburgh fan cannot claim this is anything but career suicide for Mark Bennett.

I just made a similar comment to my son. I bet he's got his agent examining the fine print of the contract looking for a way out.

A boatload of money and living in Edinburgh for 3 years? I'd take it at the cost of a crap-ish job.

Its really frustrating. Edinburgh has decent (although not extraordinary) players in the pack, who can carry the ball into contact without going a mile back. They also have ok wing and a "promissing" fullback. Centres are a bit less impressive but they get such poor ball. Everything looks rushed and chaotic but the worst is the poor passing from both half backs. The number of times the centres had to jump up to catch the ball, or run back to gather them is outrageous.

The result is a very depressing blunt attack on which the players waste a huge amount of energy. Leinster just cruised into the high score at the end..

Agreed on the half backs Adder. This is one of the key problems for Edinburgh if you ask me. I've seen some Edinburgh fans naming their 'great' backlines for next season on other forums. They all include Weir and SHC. SHC may well come back into form but it's been a long time coming... Weir, however, is the player he is. They desperately need a good 10 if they want to become a good side competing in the top half of the table. Tovey is the better of the two but still not good enough.

Well, if that's all he wants from his Rugby career, then Edinburgh are welcome to him. If I had had anywhere close to his potential at his age, it would not have satisfied me.

I'm not sure that's the whole picture. If you compare the quality of ball that the Edinburgh half-backs got from the breakdown with that of the Leinster half-backs, you would probably see a significant contributor to the shite delivery.

On a positive note, I think Chris Dean has improved a lot this season. Him and Bryce showed up decently last night (I've not watched the whole second half!)
