I just made a similar comment to my son. I bet he's got his agent examining the fine print of the contract looking for a way out.

A boatload of money and living in Edinburgh for 3 years? I'd take it at the cost of a crap-ish job.

Well, if that's all he wants from his Rugby career, then Edinburgh are welcome to him. If I had had anywhere close to his potential at his age, it would not have satisfied me.

I've already stated elsewhere that I think MB has the potential to become one of the best 13s in the world and I view this move as a detrimental to that development. But different people want different things from life and their careers.

Have there been any rumours about who a new coach could be? It's vital they invent some new ideas and belief and someone who'll make it feel like a fresh start next season.

There have been a few inprovements in ambition under Hodge but not much. I suspect if they were convinced by him it would have been done by now anyway

The Scotland set up looks really promising for the years to come. Hopefully it will deliver.

We now have:
- two decent coaches ready to take over next year for the professional Clubs.
-Two smaller stadiums for each club.
-2 Clubs are in their respective European 1/4 finals.
-Scotland has not been trashed in a While.
-A decent set up for scouting and developing younger players.
-a multitude of hybrid pitches all around Scotland.

Pleased with the appointment. Will be interesting to see if the current coaches really do hang around after the season has finished.

SRU do appear to have done well here. Beating Wales would be another step forward!

I'm not as positive as some on this. He's an upgrade and I'd expect Edinburgh to improve anyway but not that exciting especially with Hodge staying. Might well do a good job, just waiting to be convinced. Good they have it finalised anyway

Right now the only thing stopping Edinburgh being bottom is the Italian teams, thats a hell of a drop from HEC 1/2 finalists to bottom

Cockerill may not mak Ed a top 4 team but he could make them a top 6
