It's Super Rugby. From about the 3rd round on everybody is dealing with injuries. This competition is about attrition as much as anything, and injuries can't be held up as an excuse.
If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

Maybe one of the SA/Japanese conference teams that don't have to play a single kiwi team before the playoffs?

NZ holding down 4 of the 5 top spots, and all 5 NZ teams have winning records. The Kiwis are running riot this year.

Main interest for me, though, is whether the Jaguares can manage their second win of the season when they host the Kings in a bottom-of-the-table clash this afternoon... :?:

41-17 to the Man Buns.

Coles is just smooth with the ball in hand. Sets up a try like a center.

They put 50 on them. Canes look to have some beasts in the forwards. The Bus got two, but still looks like Bill Cosby in a diabetic coma.

The Rebels were the top Aussie team coming into this weekend, and I'll need to check, but I think the Lions were the top South African team. I guess if you wanted to point out where one conference is better than the others, this weekend's results would be the one to point at.

I believe the Stormers & Bulls are marginally ahead of the Lions, with the Bulls having a couple of games in hand. Right now the Pretorians look like the only side capable of breaking the Kiwi stranglehold . . .

Stormers and Bulls are ahead of the Lions in the SA division, but they're both in the conference that is not playing any NZ teams (ie they avoid arguably the 4 top teams). It's no surprise they're ahead on points.

Yeh, but I think the Bulls are on about a 6-game winning streak since losing in the opening round. Their last couple of victories against Aussie sides have been very comprehensive.

Speaking of which, the Jaguares annihilated the Kings 73-27 today 8-)

That's comprehensive, even if the Kings are a joke.

The Bulls are 6 from 8, with 5 wins coming consecutively after an opening heavy loss to the Stormers, a win v the Rebels and a draw with the Sharks. You can only beat what's in front of you but 5 in a row isn't much to write home about when what's in front of you are Sunwolves, Cheetahs, Kings, Reds and the Force.

Is an all-Kiwi semi-finals possible? On form, that's the way it's shaping up...

Cracker of a South Island derby on at the moment. Highlanders leading the Crusaders 20-12, having scored 3 tidy tries. Cru were dominating the game, had 2 tries disallowed, but resolute Highlanders defence kept them in the game before equally shoddy Crusaders D let the Highlanders strike back.

Reminder that the Blues beat this Highlanders team, ergo, they are the greatest team that ever rugbied in the history of Super Rugby.

FT 34-26 Highlanders, a late Dagg try making it sound closer than it really was. The Crusaders totally dominated the first quarter, but a couple of Highlanders tries against the run of play turned it round. Highlanders were excellent in the end. Good rugby.

Brilliant match. Hard to see the Kiwi teams being beaten on that performance.

C****s. ;)
As for the maths. There are mathematic 'theories' on both sides, they are not the same as mathematical facts. I asked for maths.

Len has one UG. Few miles on the clock, but popular with the ladies.

Just watched the game. How good are the two Smiths? Benjamin just Zen and right decisions almost every time. The little Smith has such a mean flat pass and keeps his dick in his pants, focusing instead on getting on with continuity.

Crusaders have an issue at centre maybe. They are relying a lot on consistent paint by numbers players like Todd. Forwards are definitely carrying them. Len, your mate at 14 had a good go at being Owen Farrell for the first 15.
