England under Wisemantel has looked better in attack with a proper 10 be it Ford or Cipriani, the forwards let the team down in SA more than anyone else.

What's the stats without Ford at 10?

I'd also like to see tries scored per minute with Ford at 10 and without. That will be interesting.

Can't get the exact stats on tries when Ford on the pitch because I don't have the time to dig.

But Farrell has started at 10 4 times and Cipriani 1 time. We have 2 wins with Farrell at 10 and 1 with Cips.

Before the game against Aus, we'd scored 5 tries in 3 games with Farrell starting at 10. 2 of those were scored with Ford at 10.

There's no denying Farrell puts in some big hits. Regardless of position, we all like to see big hits made. Lewsey smashing Rogers ribs into a different time zone in 2003 still brings tears (of joy) to my eyes. He does his fair share of ruck work, just like all other backs so I don't know why this is jizzed over.

I'd rather a 10 be renowned for excellent passing, kicking, vision and running.

A friend of mine who is involved at the Bridgwater & Albion has just posted a picture of Farrell as his favourite player. Strange.

Rewatched the game last night, and I say this as someone who has previously fought his corner on this forum, but Farrell was appalling in this game. Even a vaguely competent flyhalf performance on Saturday and we win this game with a bit to spare I reckon.

I knew he didn’t have a good game watching live, but was genuinely taken aback on the rewatch, pretty much every thing he did was inaccurate.

Indeed. Set the tone early with a sliced kick that went straight up in the air and got worse.

But that's the thing that annoys us all so much. Pretty much all the things used to beat other FHs with are actually the things Farrell is poor at...

I also thought his handling of the ref was poor again. I mean, at least he didn't shout in his face, but he wasn't in his ear like AWJ was, and with Peyper being such a... well, you need to be in his ear explaining things and asking for him to clarify.

There was an incident where there was a tackle, it looked like he'd got it to ground pretty easily, before there was some wrestling. Throughout all of this, Peyper was silent. Then, when Youngs looks at Peyper to say: he's all over the ball off his feet, Peyper suddenly decides to call "maul".

Why Farrell wasn't there explaining to him: "Sir, as our players understood, it was a ruck, and we treated it as such. You're the boss, and it's your decision, but we would appreciate it if you could let us know."

I mean, he can always say "no", but there's no harm in trying. In reality, Farrell went over, said: "Sir?", Peyper said: "It was a maul", and Farrell walked away.

That's the thing, even his 'genuinely excellent' involves quite a few mistakes. Yeah he has done some fantastic kicks, you'd hope so when you've kicked it 400 times in 3 games.

I've been saying this for a while that he really does have some skills but he's just as much a loose cannon as a Cipriani or Russell, and I'd actually trust those two more in defence.

With all his kicking innacuracy, why not, just once or twice, move it quickly and let Slade or Daly kick? It's as if he accepts and believes all his own hype and must be the one.

Because this is Farrell's team and Farrell is the man and Farrell Farrell Farrell Farrell Farrell.

Farrell looked good because he played as he does at Saracens. Dominant pack, kick for grass/corners and then launch something in the red zone. Ask for any more and he’s not the same player.

He did speak to/harangue the ref one time, Pepyer told him to go away and then AWJ wandered over to Pepyer and said something along the lines of “he shouldn’t speak to you like that”......
As an aside, AWJ was excellent both as a player and capt.
