Yep. If you’re considering not having a 10 on the bench pick another playmaking centre at the least.

Are Barclay and Wilson there because they’ve earned their spot?

Tough to say. Barclay is first choice 6 and has been for a while. Not showed that much recently but wouldn't say he's been coasting. I'd pick him.

I wouldn't have picked Wilson but he has been on one of his better spells and I think this has consistently been Scotland's first choice back row when everyone is fit

Right.

Scotland always play to form in WCs. Beat lower ranked teams and lose against higher ranked teams.

In recent tournament rugby (ie ignoring AIs/Summer tours) we have also failed to create a genuinely significant result...eg a win away against a top side.

Tomorrow is the time to change all that. Bored of platitudes. Time to make the world sit up.

Cmon Scotland.

So... shall we use this thread as match chat?

Lots of emotion at anthem time from us - moreso than usual.

Thunderous start but the execution isn't there. If we keep giving Ireland possession we will get punished for it. Throwing a pass to nobody so it goes out of play giving Ireland a free L/O is exactly what we CANNOT be doing.

That is a nonsense. Kicking from our 5 and not making touch is a cardinal sin.

Whoever missed that tackle on Henderson needs taken out back and shot.

Aye. Complete shambles. Did all the huffing and puffing and our opponents are 7 points ahead. What's new?

Rambo. Didn't get over quick enough to fill the space either.

The players don't have a clue what they're doing. Desperately trying to release pressure in a panic every second phase. Did they not know Ireland would strangle them?

Missed tackles, crap kicks, passing to no one... whats the point?

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Staggering lack of awareness for Wilson there.

That is an insanely debateable try.... I mean the pressure warranted one but it doesn't look like a clear-cut grounding at all.

On current course this is heading to a 40 point win for them.

Haha you are joking right. He is rolling over desperately trying to keep something on the ball.

He should have known where the ball was and doesn't try to change position on the ball til it is way to late. The effort was there, the awareness wasnt.

Good call from Hogg flinging that to Seymour straight away. Irish defence is ferocious though. Need to score next
