Zebo is toxic if that's where Russell is at then yer better off
If this is aimed at me that is not the point I was making.
Hogg got annoyed at the ref for blowing up when the clock went red. If you want all the time you can get to chase a BP try then do NOT waste 30 seconds celebrating the third 78th minute one...

While we are shite in attack I’m not sure a better team would. Next week France could do us some damage

Defence is interesting. Seem to concede quite a few metres but very few linebreaks, which I guess I’ll take for now. Though we’ve only faced Italy, England in the pissing rain and Ireland in their first run out under a new coach.
In attack it’s the same old thing. Still seem to struggle to play what is in front of us sometimes. It’s either an elaborate 7-pass move to give a winger the ball against a sliding defence, or we just blindly truck it up.
There were a few good passages with some variation though.
The build up to Harris’s try was ugly to watch but something this team have really struggled to do.

The celebration was an emotional response can you understand that. Subsequently logic took over. Allow them celebrate

Without meaning to sound like a dick, I can't help but feel we wouldn't have been able to do that against any other team.

Wins a win. I'll take that. Would prefer more. We looked like we were in a must win game. Butchered a few things... But we won

That might well be true.
I can’t work out what to take from today. We have some individuals doing some good things and putting in a ton of effort but it’s just not paying off consistently enough.

Fairly dull game. Defence was very good but our attack has gone backwards (at least in the backs, thought the forwards carried decently).
Funny to have a scrum that is a bit of a weapon.
Watson and Ritchie were great. That's the influence we want them to have together

If you want an illustration of what pre-conceptions will do to you - I went into today wondering why we were playing Harris and so thought he was completely anonymous in attack apart from a decent line for his try and was okay in defence but also that Italy wouldn't really have troubled anyone at 13. I then come on here and someone is saying he should have been man of the match.
Hopefully something re-kindles the magic in attack but, on the plus side, that is three out of our last six games where we have held the other side to nil. Looking at it negatively, in our last seven games, we have lost every game in which we have conceded a point.

The names I'm familiar with but the performances from many in blue bore no resemblance to their counterparts for Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Folk will say that international rugby is a step up from Pro14....the Italian side today stretches the credibility of that point.
Troubling also that after a decent, but still losing, performance against Ireland the cohesion and dynamism seems to regressing the longer they are "in camp"? The opposite shoukd be the case.
From where we were in 2016-18 the risk aversion in the pursuit (scramble) for any sort of win is disappointing. I don't want to see an Ireland/Wales lite brave in defeat and stumbling in Rome when we have the tactics and players (missing for whatever reason) that would have put 50 on the board today.

No, that's where I was. Harris didn't make any glaring errors but neither did he create. I don't remember our wingers being put into space, him getting on the outside or cutting back in and running at Canna. However it was interesting that when Hutchinson came on he effectively played 12 and started throwing much longer passes but to little effect. A 13 that challenges the outside shoulder doesn't seem to be part of the game plan.

Yep. Harris held things together well and finished neatly enough, some good plays in defence, which is about the minimum I would want from him. We didn't see any signs of really creating anything though. I feel like we're picking two 'glue' players together in the centres now, which so far isn't that inspiring in attack.
Hutchinson has a really good outside break that we're either not interested in using or he just isn't seeing the opportunity. We didn't manage to create much for Jones in that respect either. His passing is usually fantastic, but he seemed to get caught out a couple of times by not realising we line our backs up in a straight line with everybody stood still, rather than having anyone (except Hogg) actually stand back and run on to a pass. It was the classic Russell thing, so desperate to move the attack wide but seeing only a static line tries to force it by throwing a loopy miss-pass.

Some interesting stuff in here. I wonder how much of Italy's focus on the 13 channel in attack (not that most teams don't target that area, but in a different way perhaps) might have played a part in picking Harris there.
This link will jump ahead to that point of the video, but the opening half about their offside kick-chase trick is quite interesting too.
