In fairness he rarely bangs on about it. I knew he knew Jan Webster back in the day, but it was quite a while before he mentioned it was because he used to play there too. And whilst he does like talking he's more likely to talk cars, bikes, gardening, wine, holidays, children and rugby in general than his own former playing days

his career looked like it was really going somewhere and then it rather fizzled out to middle management nothingness, and he too ended up stuck in Birmingham despite not really wanting to be in Brum. he's also losing his hair, but he's a fair bit older and still has more hair. so no, not really
