Great result. Must be best ever WC. By my reckoning it is Australia for the final game but could be misreading it.

Embra back 3 options are looking healthy if they all reach their potential. Hoyland, king blairhorn, Graham, the big Saffer lad are all 23 or younger.

Didn't we also get thumped by Wales in the 6N? I thought this year would be more of a development year

Sorry , misread that, Australia, to finish 5th would be good, academy system and home grown coaches are fantastic

I think our domestic coaches are pretty good. That's why I wanted to see Dalziel in the mix with Embra. He's been great with the 20s.

This may be unpopular but Scott Johnson is doing a pretty good job, and before Greig Smash comes along and reminds us that BT gave us £23 million a poor DOR could of pissed that up against a wall on a 3rd pro team, bigger squads or a new stadium for Edinburgh,

That's a dangerous call. Would get you lynched on the Scotsman comment pages. You may be right although it is always hard to know who to credit for these kind of changes. I've always been quite impressed by Dodson but maybe Johnson should get more credit. I suppose it is the same question England fans struggle with with Rob Andrew

There are a host of young scottish coaches becoming academically as educated as they can be (UKCC4) and they are all national youth coaches. But it's how we get the into the pro game that is an issue especially when Roddy Grant can leap frog Dalziel.

Possibly Grant did better in his interview than Dalziel, at the end of the day we have young scottish coaches , that wasnt the case 10 years ago

It says no streaming. Gutted.

Anyway, in more positive news, I have just seen a hedgehog and her cub foraging about in my garden. Exciting times.

Game wasvery good. We scored on the death in what is a slightly controversial score. Good to have one of these go our way.

Scotland won 24-17 .

Fuck no. That's been what 5 games in 18 days? They've more than earned a kip. Plus Dunbar, Bradbury and Carmichael have been released as not going to be considered for Fiji.

Haha. Fair point. I was thinking more of cover for fly half if Russell is off, but I guess there's enough in Suva.

13-7 just before half time and great break leads to a yellow for italy. Kicked to the corner and lose the lineout.

Halftime. Great chance to beat a team we lost to badly in the 6N

The boy Hutchison looks good.

Need to make kicks second half - have already missed about 9 points. Forwards also need to buck up their set piece and maul defence. Decent performance tho.
