My Dad and I kept racing pigeons when I was young. I caught next door's cat tucking into one of our fledglings once and still have the scars on my thumb which got pretty well mashed up along with the cat during the process of smashing its head into a pulp with a half-brick. It took them 2 hours to pick the bits of cat out of my hands before stitching them back together.

I admit the cat was only acting out of instinct; I plead the same defence Mi' Lud.
