I need to cut the grass (certainly before it rains this weekend), and trim the edge of the lawn front and back, and some weeding would be in order. So if you get done early and want some extra gardening to keep you entertained...

Gardening is an issue for me. Partly I hate the idea of getting started on it, but actually once started I can enjoy pottering about outside, especially if I can justify using a chainsaw or an axe, the issue with having started is having some slight OCD leanings I can easily start to disappear down the rabbit hole of trying to bring the garden to total order, no leaves, twigs, moss, weeds where not wanted, and that can be an exhausting and very annoying process, worse than a minute by minute update even.

Personally, I find garden maintenance a chore; I love doing the big projects; and I don't particularly mind the once a year stuff (once I stop procrastinating about them); but the weekly stuff just annoys me.
However, gardening is a great time to be listening to podcasts.

Have you gentlemen finished chugging each other off in the garden yet?

Right. How many weeks ban from the board is that worth, Puja? I’d say two. Doubled for being a notorious troublemaker.

It would've been a ban, but Jesus saves him from any punishment for his actions.
Plus I hear his biscuit etiquette is exemplary.

I’m partial to tending to the needs of the garden. Especially as it gives me the opportunity to pop on my olive shorts with matching top and fully equipped utility belt.

To me that seems appalling, but no worse than violence visited on other persons for one's race, or sex, or politics, or religion...

It's not worse than any other bigotries against something a person is (politics is something you choose, not something you are. Religion's debateable), but how often do you see a player on social media say, "All black people are going to HELL, unless they accept God's word and stop mixing with other races"? And if they did, would they get away with it because it's their strongly held faith?
Racism is socially unacceptable nowadays and anyone saying the n-word faces obloquy. Homophobia is moving that way, but it's telling that use of the f-word gets a mixed response of "Well, is it really worse than any other insult?" and prejudice is fine as long as you strongly believe it's right to be prejudiced.

I don't really count instances of abuse, I'm just of the opinion one isn't worse than another without delving into the circumstances of specific examples and comparing them.
Though let's be honest, most religious people are going to hell 'cause they can't all be right. Nigger is an interesting word, I'd understand it's use being so unacceptable if everyone stopped using it, but when it's still widely used in some communities and so frowned on in others that seems rather unfair, also for me the word in isolation isn't especially revealing, the context of the use being so important.

To allay any concern about the possible thunderstorms today I'd like to confirm I cut both lawns last night, still haven't got the mower down to it's lowest height setting yet, that moment of excitement may come on Sunday if it stays dry enough.

We live in an unfair world and that is certainly one of the lesser inequalities.

Mine got its first cut Tuesday - I'm about to go give it a lower one; then hopefully mid-week it can be down to the normal amount.
Next weekend to scarify and throw on some new seed (which then sets the height back by a bit as you need to leave it a couple of weeks)
With the on-and-off frost, and constant rain... the damned thing needs rolling to oblivion though (once I've seeded would seem sensible). At least I managed to get it spiked a couple of weeks ago.
What sort of lawn feed do you recommend?

I managed to get a first cut in before the recent cold spell, but that was with the mower set so high it didn't in the end make much if any difference. I'm told I make a mistake in going to the lowest setting as it only encourages moss, but with some raking that seems to clear up easily enough and I prefer the look. I don't really use feed as such, I just sieve on some compost (mixed with a bit of sand if it's not really broken down compost)
Today having said that it reminds me I'll be turning over the compost, I'd like it noted the compost wasn't my idea it was the girls, but they don't seem all that keen on actually doing anything with it, left to their devices it'd be a rotten mess.

All of a sudden I really want a minute by minute breakdown of the Glos v Newcastle match.

Yeah, best for the grass to leave it longer than you'd think - and the first mow is only supposed to take the top off what's grown, so that the plant can adjust to being decapitated, and still have decent length to recover - then take it down a little at a time until you reach ideal height - about 1.5" IMO.
As for feeding it - I gave it plenty of food under the soil when I relaid the whole thing about 6 years ago; so there should be plenty in there; but I do like to throw some generic Weed&Feed over the top a couple of times a year.
I still haven't fond a good way to repair pee-holes from the dog; the best is to simply get a new roll of turf, and cut it to size; removing the same depth where it's been killed - but it never really works, and getting hold of just a couple of lengths of decent turf is a bloody nightmare!
Do you think we've bored them enough yet?
